How many miles do you have on the car now?
Can you recall if the car had a clutch/oil smell at any time earlier?

Was there a pool of oil in the plastic tray?

found this when doing transmission and transfer case oils change, about 15k miles. no clutch and oil smell, and the car runs normal. im not sure if those are oils on the tray because the wet spot is behind the oil pan.

So, if you don't sell a gasket....how it is sealed? O-ring?

there would be that many oils on the driver side catch can. i check both cans every month. most oil from the one on passenger side. and the oil only found under the oil pan around gasket area. so i think it shouldnt be the catch cans

my gf and family don't drive manual, i think i shouldnt consider this when i bought it and paid 6k less for the gsr...
car in service now and im waiting, its been inside for 6 hours, if this is a serious problem and not covered by warranty because my bolts on mods, i will put the car back to stock then try another service again...

i searched and read most threads regarding the oil leaks, seems like not many problems on the SST, some happened because the MAF or ECU inside, very few cases though. and seems like more transmission problems on the gsr.

Until your master cylinder breaks in half while sitting in traffic.....

Mitsubishi...in their infinite stupidity, replaces the entire SST for leaking pans if the car is 100% stock and under warranty.

A new MC is still cheaper than new SST :shades:. Yeah that is crazy, I hear it is like practically a 5 figure swap out. Insane that they don't just fix the leak.

they have new solution for this problem now, they can just order the oil pan and seal ring

okay guys here is the answer, they checked my car for hours and conclusion is, the leak is not that bad, they said just some oils around the gasket area and they have some sort of equipments to know the oil level is fine. they re-torque all screws and told me to come back after 1k miles and see if it's still leaking. if so, they will order the pan and seal ring for the car, free of charge. they said the ring shape liked stuff might be the problem (not perfectly sealed something like that) but cant just order it alone, it has to be come with the oil pan.

i went to bell mitsubishi and the manager there is also the president of tri-state evo. i bought my car there and i feel happy about the result. they are the biggest evo dealer in east coast and today i saw 10 new evos and couple used in the lot, nice place and mike is the man there!

somehow they charged me $100 bucks for diagnostic fee. they said after i re-check in in 1k miles, no matter there still a leak or not, they can close the file or order the parts to fix it, then submit the report and reimbursement form to mitsu and they will send me a check back (lol who knows)

that answered my curiosity, i found the leaks when i was doing transmission oil change about a month ago but i could still drained 6L of tranny fluid... which means the leak is not so bad.

will keep this updated and see what happen. guys thanks again for all the helps !

also i was told that if the leak is bad, there will be a warning light tells you transmission service required because the temp inside is too high
