lol i dont know why everyone hates ME so much, i never had a single issue with it. of course back then i was 9 years old and just used it to play rollercoaster tycoon.

hopefully vienna/windows 7 will be a good operating system, i switched to linux this year because...well vista just showed where windows systems were going after the amazing xp...right down the drain. if its good though, we'll all know just to skip every other version of windows lol.

Windows ME was the worst.

However, it's not directly analogous to Vista. Vista was built off of XP, but ME was just kind of a bastard version of windows.

Honestly, ME was terrible. Buggy, glitchy, never should have existed. Windows 2000 was out around the same time and was far superior.

lol well im glad you dont hate me, i wish i was older so i could of realized that for myself lol. i guess saying i grew up into the world of vista is good enough though.

ubuntu is my os of choice, im not a huge of the kde envirenment. i dont know why, i just like gnome better. not by any means because its mac-ish, i hate everything apple stands for lol. it just feels more simple to me.

If I could, I would punch Microsoft in the face for vista. What a jerk-off release. Vista comes out, suddenly every $300 barebone out there bears the sucker sticker "Windows Vista Compatible". wtf? I have vista ultimate on my laptop, and had it on my desktop. The only time I actually purchased software, was XP-pro, just because I was so tired of Vista. I can't even begin to describe the shit that boils inside me when I am asked 30 times about moving one file, and having 3 different levels of admin. It's admin, or its not. I run all the latest software. Everything Adobe CS3, Sony Vegas 8.0, and others. Every now and then, the software just takes a shit and the OS doesn't know what the freak is going on.

I am a very advanced user. My current XP-Pro Rig is 4GB, 1TB+ in HD, 1GB Dual Video, and so on. Without getting technical about it, I networked my house with hard lines and wifi using 2 routers and one gateway.

Vista makes me constipated.

i hated vista, i foolishly bought it. none of my drivers worked, i didnt want to buy a new printer so i couldnt print anything. and Nvidia drivers got even worse...then i found hope, freedom...

Well I've wipped out Vista from my Acer 5920G, and installed Ubuntu Hardy.. Everything is working, and I'm quite happy with it =).

They had Kryptonite
We have Windows.

I prefer XP Pro, it is still our only office OS. But to be honest after disabling some of the features on my Vista Machine at home I have no problems with it.

Nah, vista is not equal to Win ME.

WinME was a bastardized version of windows. It was released in between Win2000 and WinXP, yet was worse than both of them.

Well Vista effectively sold more copies of XP... maybe that was its purpose.

IMO windows needs to start over and with linux handling windows apps better and better everyday... time is of the essence.

It almost sounds like you didn't turn off User account control (UAC). This was the first order of business for me when I first installed vista.
