COBB Tuning will be opening a new retail sales, service and tuning facility in Southern California in November 2010. The new shop, named COBB Tuning Socal, will be at the center of the LA import tuner scene in its Fountain Valley, CA location. COBB Tuning Socal will offer installation, fabrication, maintenance, repair and AccessPORT engine management tuning services.

COBB Tuning is excited to bring its high-quality performance parts, easy-to-use AccessPORT engine management solutions, proven tuning philosophy and outstanding customer service to the mecca of import performance. In return, COBB Tuning Socal will provide an important link to the fastest moving import tuning scene in the country, keeping up with the latest trends and technology in performance modification.

COBB Tuning Socal will offer a full menu of services from this new facility, including: bolt-on power installations, staged power packages, engine builds, professional dyno tuning, custom fabrication, precision alignments, project car consultation, suspension design and set-up and drivetrain enhancement. Jon Drenas has been a significant tuner in the area for many years and will continue to crank out high horsepower creations as the lead calibrator at COBB Tuning Socal, providing professional dyno tunes for customers as well as R&D tuning for AccessPORT development. Danny Heng will be COBB Tuning Socal’s front man, leading the sales team and providing customers with insightful project car consultation. The remaining positions will be announced as they are staffed in the upcoming weeks.

Keep up to date as the build-out of COBB Tuning Socal progresses by subscribing to the COBB Tuning Blog and becoming a fan of the COBB Tuning Socal Facebook Page. The COBB Tuning Socal Grand Opening date will be announced shortly and will be an open invitation to visit the new facility, meet the staff and meet fellow tuning enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more exciting news coming from COBB Tuning Socal!

Okay guys and gals, just thought I'd give you all a little progress update.

A temporary office has been set up in the new facility since the walls are painted and everything was "OK" to move in. There's still a LOT of work that needs to be done, but this temporary solution allows me to have internet access, therefore continuing to respond via e-mail and answer any questions you all may have.

There have been some unexpected delays with certain jobs around here, but with a job this big and with eyes on our every movement, we wanted to make sure that things are done right the first time around without having to revisit any of the areas that we already worked on.

BUT, because of this, my initial hopes of scheduling week 1 or 2 of October is simply being pushed back. Please understand, that everything was an estimated time in the first place. We are handling things day by day, but just note, "soft-opening" to do the TBE installs and tune will probably not happen until the shop is closer to full operation and Grand Opening.

Obviously, I will keep every single one of you informed. Those who have e-mailed me for quotes and estimates, hold on to those. Just please understand I'm just trying to prioritize things around here, and frankly, I WANT the shop to be closer to full operation, and better service you and your vehicles! Like I've stated before, customer service and quality is what we will pride our work into, and I'm not going to sacrifice any of that just to get a job in.

If you have any questions, please e-mail me directly.

Thank you!

Danny,

Absolutely!!! Inventory is going to be huge!

- AccessPORTs
- Turbo Inlet Hoses
- SF Intake System
- Downpipes
- High-Flow Cats
- Catbacks
- 3" FP Turbo Inlet Hoses

Not to mention our inventory won't just be limited to just the products we make, but also other products such as FP Turbos (IN STOCK), AMS Products, Brake Pads/Rotors/SS Lines, clutches, etc.

Fully fledged and stocked warehouse to what we'll be selling/installing most! :)

Of course, I'm also open to suggestions! ;)

Alrighty folks!

Back from Redline Time Attack, we've got a few new goodies here at the SoCal location in preparation for the Grand Opening!

Details are being worked on, specials will soon be announced.

For the record, we are NOT currently open, nor am I taking in any appointments at the time. All I have right now is a stock room full of inventory that can be sold. However, appointments for installations and dyno tunes, not yet ready for that.

Simply put, I do not want to take your money, schedule a date, and then have to reschedule due to delays. I'm planning this as best as I can, but in order to better serve you, I'm not committing anyone to anything until I can be sure that WE (Cobb Tuning SoCal) can take care of you to our full extent!

I do have SOME inventory in, but I'm also waiting on others.

Phone system is getting re-worked. So no phones. If it rings, and lets you leave a message, be aware that I may or may not hear it ring, and I may or may not get that message.

E-mails preferred. *Warning* We are full hands on deck to try and push the construction completion date to ASAP. So I'll be out in the shop doing that. I apologize in advance for the delays, but I should be able to hammer out emails when I'm home.

Thanks again guys for your patience!!

So it's been 2 weeks since our last "Progress Report" so I figured it's just about time I keep you all updated!

Overall, shop construction is pretty steady and consistent. The team is moving as fast as we can to get things done, double, triple, and at certain times, quadruple checking the work to make sure things are level, secured, and safe.

With the majority of the dyno fabrication taking place these last two weeks, progress throughout the other areas of the shop (parts storage, pallet racks, etc.) were planned out and started. Big Blue is all set and ready for final installation, which is planned to take place relatively soon. Once the power and air lines are run, then Big Blue will get moved into place, positioned, balanced, and installed. Final wiring will take place once Big Blue is permanently (for the most part) installed.

Then comes the completion of Big Blue's house. We can't finish his house until he is safely inside and positioned, but the materials are here finally! The fan and air system drawings are all set and planned, and modifications to the current frame will take place and begin shortly!

The best news of all, Grand Opening plans have been set and finalized!! Those of you checking out the Ken Block Invitational Gymkhana Grid this coming weekend (12/04/2010) at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, CA will be treated to the news first, and a follow-up ONLINE announcement will be made Monday, December 6th.

Until then, we will continue to make progress...and I'll see you all this weekend!

Danny,

I can't wait for you guys to open! You guys did great work with my subie and because of your advice I traded in my 09 wrx for an Evo X and I can not wait to get tuned. You guys even tuned my Dad's 1990 GSX Eclipse.

The dyno datbase on Cobb's website, do all the shops use the same dyno? And will you guys get the same dyno they are using? Lastly how will it read in comparsion to the old land and sea dynomite?

Oh Em JEE!!! Cammy Cam?!

Glad you took the brilliant advice and got that Evo X! ;)

All COBB Tuning Facilities now have the same dyno...calibrated the same way. This way we have a "standard" amongst all of our shops. The database, you are probably familiar with it since it was the same one my "previous life" used to enter in everyone's information. ;)

No information is getting ported over...so our SoCal facility will have a fresh start. Let's see how fast we can build up a list! ;)

Looking forward to seeing everyone very soon!!!
