I had a clear bra installed when I bought the X, but they didn't do the bumper (specifically the painted parts around the foglights,etc.).
I was looking at Lamin-X. Does anyone have any experience with their products. Is 3M better? Should I do the install myself or no?
Cheers.
:bump:
Anyone?
No opinion/experience?

I have 3M clear bra installed on the entire front end of the car, including the bumper. I have been really happy with it on a white car. The lines are hard to see, and the material takes to polish and wax very nicely. I wouldnt think there is much difference between the two materials. I would even bet they operate pretty much identically.
I know I wouldnt try to install this stuff on my own. Its pretty tough, and you need to work in a place with as little air born dust and debris as possible.
Thanks.
Maybe I won't attempt myself then.

I definitely would let a pro do the install. Then you can take it back and complain if you are unhappy. ;)

Only thing that sucks about the clear bra is the price.
I reccommend 3M to everyone i know who buys a new car

Ive never used clear bra. Is it a permanent application?
Permanent yes if you get it sprayed on
The 3M is not permanent. It's a film that can be removed at any time.

What's a rough estimate on how much for 3m install?
What's a rough estimate on how much for 3m install?
For the hood, nose, mirrors, side fenders and rear rockers cost me $350 installed.
I'm about to do headlights, foglights and front bumper. Materials there cost $220 and I'm guessing another $100 for install.

Not bad. Wish I had done that on my '00 prelude. It looks as though someone has sandblasted the front of my car & the side mirrors after 150k miles.
