EvoXLuva 04-08-2008, 11:05 AM I checked the forum and saw a post about a Kaki exhaust already but I think this is a new one.

_Chris_ 04-08-2008, 11:54 AM Nice bling.
BTW...Welcome to the forums.
MrBonus 04-08-2008, 12:04 PM I definitely prefer the single outlet look.
logonzojls 04-08-2008, 04:12 PM Cobb quads FTW. these duals just don't look finished right.
PDXEvo 04-08-2008, 04:58 PM I am also a fan of the quads, but believe me when I saw we are the minority.
lwevert 04-08-2008, 05:47 PM I can't get to the website at work. But I am a fan of the single exhaust. I don't like the looks of the dual.
DaemonSadi 04-08-2008, 07:04 PM Soooounnnndddd cliiiiiiiiiiip. :P
logonzojls 04-08-2008, 07:10 PM I am also a fan of the quads, but believe me when I saw we are the minority.
Thats alright. according to their last update we will be able to get the quad exhaust. Its gonna look sick on the evo.
"Josh and team have been working hard on our new EVO X exhaust system. After polling many people, and a lot of internal discussion, we decided on the ‘quad tip’ style as it fit the look of the new EVO and would be a bit different from the 4″ round duals everyone seems to be doing. I really love how this setup flows with the lines of the rear bumper.
Josh has been posting some great pictures on his own blog (http://blogs.cobbtuning.com/josh/), and I took the liberty to steal some and post them on here as well. Hopefully he won’t mind. I’m just excited in the way these came out and can’t wait to get started on production!"
EVOLUTIONARY 04-08-2008, 07:44 PM Cobb quads FTW. these duals just don't look finished right.
:+1:
civicsi_X 04-08-2008, 11:46 PM I definitely prefer the single outlet look.
:+1: thats what makes it an EVO:rock:
The single and dual exhaust from Kakimoto came out at the same time. I chose the single since I don't really see any purpose in having a dual exhaust on an in line engine. Also the dual weighs more and it costs about $400 USD more than the single.
TRUSTcompany9000 04-09-2008, 11:45 PM I like the look of the dual honestly. Quad is okay, but personally I think single is just too common
ARC_EVO 04-10-2008, 12:42 AM I LOVE TO BE SIIINNNGGGLLLEEE!!!! haha

i have to agree with you on this one. even though i like the look of the dual better i dont think it serves a purpose with an inline4.
love9sick 04-11-2008, 10:13 PM I like dual, I would prefer them more incognito so went with buschur.
newbieevo 04-18-2008, 07:22 PM how many kind of Exhaust for evo x? i dont see many online
love9sick 04-19-2008, 07:45 AM how many kind of Exhaust for evo x? i dont see many online
Buschur, AMS, ETS, Vivid, and this one...just to name a few.
Kwiq Niss 04-21-2008, 01:01 AM Form over Function, or should we do it right? On an L4 there is no purpose for dual after cat (not that there is ever a purpose for fake dual). Its extra weight, and by swapping to the single outlet catback alone you can drop 20+lbs.
I like the look of dual, but extra weight isn't worth the look.

I couldn't have said it better myself! I do like the dual look from factory and Mitsubishi did the right thing for its design. However, "upgrading" causes me to go single and big.
redmachine 04-22-2008, 12:26 AM I need to ask again here if anyone has heard of artisan performance and their evo x exhaust. It looks pretty goodhttp://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/12/web/3060000-3060999/3060992_2.jpg (http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/show_image.pl?bg=FFFFFF&image=http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/12/web/3060000-3060999/3060992_2_full.jpg)----but i've never heard of them and i wouldnt want to buy a great looking piece of crap. I think this goes for $750
Kwiq Niss 04-22-2008, 12:37 AM that looks like a titanium pipe right around, if not over, 3". The bend is slight and not kinked. I want the link to where to purchase that from. Very nice
Bluevo-x 08-11-2008, 11:54 PM ^^ here is where you can purchase the artisan \

So it's almost Oct ... and Cobb's quad pipes (and the AC) for the Evo X are still not available. I wonder what's up with them? Too busy with the GT-R?
karam 11-20-2009, 01:49 AM I run the Kakimoto and it sounds really nice when boosting.... its not so loud on idle.
I've posted some pictures here!

Captain-NOKTURNAL 11-20-2009, 01:55 AM it looks nice :+1: to this exhaust
Countdokoo 11-20-2009, 03:14 PM Been running the Kakimoto twin since June last year.. It's a beauty and frankly, no exhaust on the market beats the visual beauty of a Kakimoto regu06&r (especially so after a few hot track sessions)
It is however, a restrictive exhaust which looks to be 3" in midpipe diameter externally but is actually nerfed internally to 2.25" for the purpose of controlling sound..
The twin end cans also have 4" long 2.25" in diameter restrictors hard welded into them to further reduce sound output.
If you're in the market for performance, a HKS hi-power or any other US made exhaust would fit the bill. The regu06&r just isn't cut out to perform.
If you're in it for the looks, this is probably one of the nicer exhaust systems out there.
Some pics of the exhaust tips in different stages of my ownership. The tips start out purple at the ends, and subsequently the whole end tip becomes bluish/purplish. Further exposure to heat will render it light blue/greenish/gold. FYI, the tips will only oxidize and change colour during hard track driving, akin to how real titanium oxidizes and behaves.
