I have the non premium sound system in my X. Does that mean I don't have any amp at all because there's no amp under the driver's seat?

I would think so, If you just have the basic system, The head unit is powering your speakers, since you don't have the 10" sub in the trunk, The Factory Unit that comes
with the non SSS system is more then likely powering you speakers.
