Interesting, a power bump for the MR in Japan eh? Mitsubishi is ahead of themselves since MR are not even released in North America :(

As far as I know the MR's in Japan have always been given more power than the GSR's.

Nice find boy36.

I'm not liking what they did to the front of the MR, I wonder if thats how all the 09's are going to look or MR only, maybe the Evo 11.

Why do I feel even more pissed at mitsu after reading this? Has my preordered, 08 MR already become obsolete? Is this more powerful 09 MR gonna be released in the U.S.?

the wheels are ++1 very nice. the wing is w/e to me (dont hate it, but not the best ever either.

HOWEVER

that front bumper... :wtfsign: The current Evo bumper looks way better. That front bumper ruins the lines IMHO (at the bottom).

I don't think that the US MR will look like that. As for the SST apparently it goes to show it will need reinforcement if it's to handle more power then what we're getting here. In other words it doesn't look like it will do good with mods at all.

The concept S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) system which featured active steering and roll control is being looked at for future models but won’t make an appearance on the Evolution X MR.

What is that supposed to mean???

am I the only one who thinks this is a poorly written article. And am I also the only one who doesn't see anywhere that they are talking about the 09' model?? seems to me someone writting some bs speculation on the mr.

Since the Evolution X has been on the market for 6 months already, details are starting to arise concerning an MR version which will take its place above the GSR...

What is that supposed to mean???

I said the same thing when I read that passage. I guess they will give you more power and the SST twin clutch, but no S-AWC. Even though the message was clear, for some reason I am still scratching my head??? Why the frack would they do that for?

meh.. with a grain of salt I'd say.. it hasn't hit mainstream news yet so it might not be true.

very very unlikely that it's true .. the bumper is aftermarket .. Mitsubishi will not risk water ingestion with that hole for the intake as an OE part ..

Think of the lawsuits :hah:

Yeah Im not a big fan of the new body kit on the MR. From the top picture it looks like the side skirt really flares out of the body to get air.

OT - The hood on the yellow evo above has a nice agressive styling, I wonder how it would look in OEM paint

S-AWC will continue to grow what they're saying is new features to the S-AWC that are being developed now wont make it into the 09 model IE Active Steering Roll Control...I think there was even talk of 4 wheel steering becoming apart of the SAWC Ideas they were testing on the Concept RA

I think the best thing they can do is to lose weight instead of adding more power.

I actually like that front bumper atleast the bottom half and fog-light part. That little vent for intake just makes it look all buck tooth hick ya'll know the mental image I'm talking about.

If it comes out with those black tail lights... I better be able to get a hold of a pair for my car!
