Dang it, while changing oil I somehow got a little bit of motor oil on carpet, what kind of solvents, cleaners is the best? What do cleaners/detailers use?

Why do you change your oil in the living room?

What color carpet and how much did you spill? I'd try something like resolve or another carpet cleaner. even so, it's likely it'll never come out completely.

I have gotten grease and oil accidently on my carpet in my house which is light tan and this got it out quickly and easily everytime. I keep a can of this at all times, it pretty much removes anything and I have never had it alter the color of carpeting in over 15 years of use. Still, test it before going crazy.

^ +1 spotshot FTW...

Then go to a car wash that has the foam/vacuum/scents and clean the inside of your car if it needs it.. makes it smell nice, and definitely cleans it well.

Or go to a detailing place and spend $200 for something similar haha

don't forget that time can be a factor with these things. The sooner you clean it, the better.

I used sprayaway carpet spot remover to get oil off of my carpet, works great!
