kagebrewsk 11-08-2010, 05:17 AM Ok so i dont know shit about cars but i seen some peoples RA's with a good amount of extra HP,And i was wondering what i could put in to give me a little more hp.I don't really want to cause it will void warrenty but whatevs lol.And also if anyone knows what kind of Angel Eye Headlamps will fit.I seen some on a few websites but it doesn't say if its compatible or not.
Ttsumibishi 12-01-2010, 12:44 AM Cobb off the shelf tune will be your biggest bang for your buck with a catback exhaust and drop-in air filter. Depending on your dealership any of these could void a warranty, lol.
Splatzjackson 12-01-2010, 01:40 AM What is your budget?

I don't really have a budget,But if its not extremely expensive and its worth it then i have no problem on $
Secondchance 12-14-2010, 02:14 AM best bang for buck is a 13$ boost pill and FREE GTS tune on evolution m .
I think bryan posts on here as well.
Splatzjackson 12-14-2010, 03:55 AM If you are worried about factory warranty, just go for the external mods dude. You can make it sound and look mean and lean without changing the engine. After all, what difference is it going to make if you beat a Ford F150? Either take it to the next level or just make it look like it does. No what I am saying?

Lol alright.Im just about to buy a BOV
Splatzjackson 01-03-2011, 02:16 PM I had the Cobb AccessPort (stage one) installed earlier this year, it was pretty fun and worked well. It's a good starting point. You can probably find a used AP on this or another forum. Before you buy a used one though, make sure to clarify that the AP has been "unmarried" from the previous car. The programming locks the tune coding on the AP when installed or "married" to a vehicle. The owner must uninstall the tune from that vehicle using the AP to unlock the tune code. After that you are good to go! Probably more than you wanted to know...
Lol alright.Im just about to buy a BOV
Be advised that it will likely cause you to need a tune, due to the leaky factory BOVs and the fact Im sure you are wanting to set it up VTA for the sound. The air that is getting dumped is metered air so it will cause drivablity issues most times with out a tune. Also worth note is making your car sound and look like a monster when it isnt falls squarely into this category...

And im fairly sure that angle eyes are intended for signaling other "stunnas" on the road that you are "fly as a G6". Its either that or to advertise availability for American History X style man love. Take the money, buy and intake and an exhaust. Put it on yourself, and keep the factory parts to swap out if something ever goes wrong. You get a meaner sounds with the power that goes with it. This will help you learn more about cars and modifying them the correct way, and the parts come with instructions and are great entry mods, both in terms of bang for buck, and ease of install. As an added bonus you can keep your self respect and still reserve the right to make fun of ricers! Bonus! If you run into any problems on the install, we are here to help. Most of the guys here will go out of their way to help new guys trying to do the right thing.

Well you can run an intake an exhaust without a tune, but you will get a lot more out of it with one. You do really "need" a BOV yet. I would recommend getting a 3-port. Hell get all four of them and THEN get a tune. Should make you happy. So you know you will get more out of a recirculation valve or a non vented to atmosphere BOV and it will run better. You will still be able to hear it but it wont be so loud people start looking around for a civic with a 17 year old leaned back into the backseat with "number 37, broccoli and beef" written on the hood in Chinese, blasting the techno sound track to "Blade", with a sideways fitted ball cap with the sticker on it and a TAPOUT tshirt on.

If you're doing exhaust and intake, do them together. That way you only pay for one tune. Don't worry about the BOV, either, since you probably won't be upping the boost for your tune. The stocker is good enough.
kagebrewsk 01-10-2011, 01:57 AM Alright thanks for the updates Demi and Eyeler.I'll take car to shop and get estimates tomorrow or tuesday.

Congrats man, keep us posted on your progress. You can do all those mods yourself pretty easily with a few hand tools and some jack stands. That will save you quite a bit of scratch for your tune. Tunes arent cheap, mine is gonna run $500. If i didnt do my own work I couldnt afford parts. Do let it intimidate you. Set aside a full day to do it and take your time. If you run into problems you can always hop on here and we can steer you as best we can. If you run into something you absolutely cant get or figure out then you still have the shop to fall back on, but you'll be fine.
