I'll post some up tomorrow... so does this mean no one heard or have used it before?

they said it was for the evo X, maybe not then (since no one knows about it)...

ok just got my TSB flashh and my Drop in RALLIART air filter...
not much crazy gains nor hear the spooling clearly...

BUT this is the first time i got my head pulled back to the seat like my previous IX... In comparison, it definitely pulls harder than my IX w/ a K&N drop in... dynobutt says probably 5-10hp, and now i can really enjoy my pulls...

heres some pics...

Oh, got it from SAM@SCM DEALSSSS!!! SAM's the MAN!!!

So what kind of filter is it? Cotton, paper or K&N style...

So what kind of filter is it? Cotton, paper or K&N style...

Cotton:

RALLIART Sport Air Intake Filter is a direct replacement of the stock air filter in the stock air box. This RALLIART Sport Air Intake Filter is made of RALLIART Hi-Flow Cotton Mesh. RALLIART Sport Air Filter is rated to increase 10-15hp over stock MITSUBISHI air filter.
LANCER Evolution X may face air to fuel mixture out of balance with some of after market air intakes without adjusting fuel setting. RALLIART Sport Air Filter increase power with the stock fuel setting while maintaining excellent alir filtration. With this RALLIART Sport Air Filter, you don't need tp worry about adjusting fuel.

so just like a K&N it's cotton with a fine wire mesh? Do you have to oil it? Looking at the pic I can't tell exactly...pics a bit blurry. These 140 dollar drop ins are killin' me. Someone will come out with a filter 1/2 the price and we'll all be pissed we got one of the 140 versions

unless specifically told that it does not, it would be safe bet that they do void warranty.

note.. the dealer has to prove that that part caused an issue.

I want to be weary, b/c the last time i posted warranty stuff in here someone started running their mouth. I don't want to start a flame war, but from what I was told at the mitsu dealership, it should not void the warranty.

Yep.. place it this morning, it feels smoother on the high ends ... it would be nice to make a real dyno test with one of these.
I'll make some runs tomorrow with it to pay attention on the difference and return to the stock one before my reflash Monday or Tuesday...and re-run...

Ralliart parts do not void your warranty. Its like getting Dinan parts for a BMW. They are Mitsubishi approved parts.

from my experience
i've used it on both evo 8 and 9..
ralliart sports filter give you little more air flow and quicker response..
it will do the same on evo 10..
and the foam type worked better than the flat panel one..

yep thats what I'd expect also, my point being get it cleared with your dealer rather than assume that it will not. (since they will be the ones 'actioning' any warrentee service :)

I guess from the post above.. your particular dealer has ok'ed so .. all good!

What is the maintence on the Ralliart Drop in air filter. Do you have to be re oil it, replace it or just knock the dirt out like a dirty floor mats??

I hope my service delaers understand that, becasue ALL of them has said it will void my warranty. But they are a bunch of morons I know that:shades:. They say ralliart are perfromane parts and even when mitsubishi still void your warranty, now how stupid is that...:p.

The Ralliart drop in filter seems pretty pricey for a throw-away filter. For almost 1/3 the price, I'd much rather go with an HKS drop in.

MooseX
05-02-2008, 05:42 AM
^ over a 100 bucks cheeper. You can buy 3 HKS' and still have $$ left over:rock:..I'm seriously thinking of going with an HKS' for awhile

MooseX

no matter IMO no drop in is worth 140 bucks. For that price I can get a decent downpipe or with a little more $ a test pipe
