This belongs as much in the engine section as the electronics section.
The Evo X has a sensor that measures the stretch of the timing chain. As you know, tolerance is key in engineered motors like this. Well, near the timing chain is the oiler for the timing chain. The sensor learns the chain. After time, the chain stretches. The sensor tells the computer, the computer adjusts, life goes on. Well, after time, the engine light comes on to warn you that its time to do something about it.
Well, the light is serious, take its word. You must do something about it. Do not reset the code, this forces the computer to relearn the chain, which is now already stretched. Long story short, oiler will break.
Don't just reset codes, or you may learn this one for the rest of us.:tumbleweed:
