hey i got a clutch that is slipping and is wondering what kind of clutch should i get, my driving habits are daily and sometimes givein it hell once in a while. i've heard that cltuch masters are pretty good and was thinking of goin with a stage 3 and the clutch master flywheel, any suggestions would help out.

Exedy Twin Disk HD...

Use the search though.

ACT 6 puck sprung for bigger power, otherwise the ACT HDSS for a anything under 450whp. Way way cheaper than the Exedy twin, they last longer and hold as much power and will drive just as easy if you go with the HDSS.

I wouldn't run either in an X. Maybe a twin by them but not a single.

The only draw back to i see with the ACT 6 puck is if your shifting at anything over 7500 rpm I always get lock out going to 5th and sometimes going into 4th. I don't know what causes it, but if your revving at normal levels this clutch is great.

and i should run a twin in an x but that is just for straight up racers or auto crossing, not into any of that stuff, just need something that gets me goin on a daily driving and sometimes giving it hell.

I'd run the ACT, I had one in my STi and I LOVED it. You can try the clutc masters since you seem to have your mind on it. Let us know how it feels!

ACT 6 puck is a great clutch, installed plenty and customers are always happy with them (big power or even mild). Haven't had any customers complain about lock out related issues with the 6 puck, so not sure what problems Huge is having (could have been with the install?). You could do exedy as well, they are nice clutches but a bit hefty in the price in comparison to the ACT, either way though both will be a solid purchase.

A good clutch is the guy that saves the game.

A good clutch is the wingman that talks to the hideous friend.

A good clutch is Exedy I think. But I'm JDM brainwashed.

Exedy, ACT, and spec are what I would go with based on the reviews I've seen

I went with the clutch masters fx-400 based upon Hollywoods recommendation, and I don't regret it, it shifts great and I've had zero problems. 1000+ miles on it since the installation.

Most people going Spec 3+ so far have not needed a CMC which is why I am eyeballing it!

At first I was looking at the Exedy Twin, but now after months of talking with users and research, I am not going to waste money on it. I can get a Clutchmasters/ACT/Spec bought and installed for the price of an Exedy, but I am also not looking to make Godzilla power.

The exedy twin disk is the best.I drove cars with 6 puck and 4 puck.I can tell you its worth the money for a twin.

Yea I've heard you probably don't need it and it might be safe with the stock cmc. There's a few horror stories out there of the cmc breaking even with the stock clutch though too so who knows. In the grand scheme of things it's not really much $$$ at all to just get them done at the same time and know you're safe.

This is also the clutch I chose. I love it, tock out a fidanza pos and have never looked back. except this pos fidanza flywheel.

Clutchmasters will also rebuild your fx400 disc for 75 when you were it out.

Didn't know that. That may be the deciding factor when I upgrade clutches.

Im also looking for a clutch soon before I get my tune. Clutch is slipping already with 9500 on it stock p.o.s. Looking into ACT also or Exedy Twin Hd witch i had on my STI witch I really liked the shifts. But just not a fan of the chatter from the twin. But also you guys that have the ACT is the pedal feel alot harder or slightly??? And do you have the upgraded CMC in your cars also? Your help would be greatly appr. Also you guys that have to ACT did you get the 6puck sprung or unsprung? This is what I plan on going with the ACT sprung 6puck with the SSP CMC. This is my DD with some drag occasionally. Just looking for something to last a while and plan on a red or green down the road. Im I headed in the right direction? thanks

Everyone buys the Exedy when its not the best. Spec and Clutchmasters twins are better and the chatter is much much less because of the different designs.

Keep in mind you NEED to upgrade the clutch master cylinder too. If you dont you'll be sorry.

This statement is not true.. I definitely had way more chatter with the Spec twin then my Exedy. Also, the exedy is a lot lighter then the spec was too (which leads to less drivetrain loss). Additionally, the spec has the push conversion, but with the amount of work required to replace the hydraulic TOB I would rather stay with the conventional pull style setup since there have been a couple of bearing failures (seals blowing out).
