Car performed great. I would have been more comfortable if I had a skidplate but I didn't break anything and it was loads of fun.

The aftermath:

Also, forgive the photography, my iphone lens is really scratched up and made the photos all blurry. The car is actually much dirtier than it looks in pics also. I was going sideways through berms of grass and mud--I literally have mud packed into the door jambs.

That must've been really fun. Wish you could have taken videos to give us a better idea of the course layout, and see HOW much fun it was.

Don't have a camera mount for this car. GoPro camera is incoming though so any future exploits will be on film for sure.

There was a photographer there so when the actions shots are put up I will post them in this thread.

Looks like you had fun out there. :) What club was this with?

I heard a suggestion of using PAM cooking spray on the inside of the wheel wells to reduce the amount of mud that sticks, but I haven't tried it yet. Skidplate is definitely a smart idea if you are going to continue to rally-x the car.

I'd love to try doing some rally-cross but I don't think I could bring myself to use the evo.

It was with SCCA.

I think I would rather powerwash the mud out than deal with pam. Seems more trouble than its worth to me.

I am unsure if I am going to be doing much more Rally-X. I am probably going to be doing a skidplate soon regardless due to road conditions during the winter.

I am fine with abusing the car and having fun with it but this was a bit extreme for my daily driver. The noise of rocks the size of softballs nailing the undercarriage was a bit disconcerting. I want to do some of the winter events because they are on smooth tracks but it conflicts with my skiing.

I am definitely doing ice racing if my schedule allows. Thankfully I now have my GoPro HD motorsports to capture the action.

It is fun to post pictures of an Evo being put to the test instead of just being all pretty with some non-functional CF sitting on tarmac somewhere. An evo should have some patina, the tires should show evidence of hard cornering, and the calipers should be brown/black.
