I have been looking for a portable solution for sometime, I am not fond of the 12V tethered pumps or carrying around a compressed air tank, so I thought I would give this little guy a try...

This thing works great for me and I really like the auto shutoff feature with the programmable PSI settings! I have confirmed my units PSI accuracy with 2 Longacre tire pressure gauges and it is dead on. It is very compact and can increase 3-4psi in ~30 seconds. So far on a full charge I have aired up 10 tires, 1 that was 12psi low, 1 that was 6psi low, 7 that were 2psi low, and 2 uninflated bicycle tires and the battery is still going strong. I really like being able to just drive up to the pits and get out, air up, and go. Granted it is not as fast as using a tank, but I can live with the 5-10 seconds to add 1-2psi between runs. There is one drawback, if you would call it that, the Schrader valve connection does tend to leak a bit if you do not yank the sucker off after actuating the lever, I have found overfilling about 0.5psi does the trick. I still use my Longacre to double check the pressure.

This system can be recharged via a 12V cigarette lighter connection or a 120V connection, which is also a nice to have feature.

Also, another nice feature is the battery is replaceable for just a few bucks in the event it does happen to show signs of age, it is almost the same gel cell battery found in most common uninterruptible power supplies.

I like the dual purpose use of this unit, the high volume air pump portion can air up a bed/pool toy in a matter of seconds. Nice toy to have to take to the track, pool, lake, or sport venue. I highly recommend it if you have limited carrying capacity or you don't want to muck with cords!

So this weekend this little pump finally got to see some action. He has been officially named the WALL-E head pump! Over 2 days of autocross, we used this little guy to pump up a bunch of tires...

Fully Charged

Saturday:
4x 6psi (from 34 to 40psi) - My Car 265/35R18
4x 4psi (from 34 to 38psi) - Evo X GSR - Justin81

Sunday:
4x 6psi (from 34 to 40psi) - My Car 265/35R18
4x 4psi (from 36-40psi) - Honda Civic Si
4x 2psi (from 40-42psi) - Honda Civic Si
4x 2psi (from 42-44psi) - Honda Civic Si
4x 2psi (from 44-46psi) - Honda Civic Si
4x 3psi (from 46-49psi) - Honda Civic Si

32 tires over 2 days...

And this thing still had some juice left! I would say that is not too damn bad for only being charged one time!

Nah man, that was perfect! They were like, no one gives a shit about the tickets, go take a break...I should have ridden with someone instead of standing around kicking rocks!

Justin81, this is the one most of us use...

Longacre 50412, it is a really nice gauge and isn't too badly priced. I paid $52.90 shipped from Summit Racing.
