Thuan, now you post this! I should have waited, I just purchased a complete system for my Evo because I couldn't wait. I wanted to keep my factory amp and sub...it sounded pretty good to me. Thanks for the info.:(

I know :( but this just came out this week. I know its a PITA to return online order
if thats was what you did, but if you still decide to install the aftermarket stuff. Now instead of pretty good sound, You will have a Great Sounding system.

Here is something to consider for the guys who plan to use this adapter, Installing
aftermarket component will suck unless you have an aftermarket amp.
The factory speaker are 2-ohm loads and the Sub is an 1.1 ohm load.
Most aftermarket Component is 4 ohm speaker, and sub are 4 ohm, with duel voicecoil are 8 ohm. Just by replacing the speaker with aftermarket speaker, You will lose about
1/2 the wattage the OEM amp puts out. I don't think the factory amp has a
Regulated Power Supply Like the JL slash series or the new Alpine PDX series have that will adjust the wattage to what ever ohm load you throw at it.. Most amps don't adjust power like the 2 amp I mention.
to what ever ohm load you want.

As far as I understand, the adapter will allow using aftermarket head unit with the factory amp. Since the factroy amp will be supplied with the line-in signal from the radio, and the speakers will be driven by the factory amp, there shouldn't be any loss of power. I would agree that you would lose power if you changed speakers. But if you want just swap the head unit, this adapter should do the trick. Am I missing something?

Yup you are 100% correct. What i was just trying to say was if you wanted to go with after market speakers, and this will be the only time you lose power. If you are happy with the oem speaker, then there will be no issue.
