I can only put 4 companies here, so I will place the 4 that seem to appear most often when I'm looking around. Which of these companies do you plan on using to when modifying your EVO X? (I know I'm leaving out Ralliart) Please consider cost, quality, and customer service. I would like to place 2 more, but it only allows 4.

1) AMS
2) HKS
3) Buschur
4) Perrin

I'm acutally planning on going with AMS, Buschur, and Perrin for sure. Possibly Cobb and HKS well. I just voted AMS since they were on the top. I'm not sure too many people will go with just one company for everything.

I'm sure I will mix and match also. Just trying to get a feel of who people trust with their car. Ive narrowed it down to these 4 companies for me. I would go with more of the AMS stuff, but I do not like the look of the single exhaust or the tone. I really like the tone of the Buschur Exhaust though, but waiting on the Perrin boys to get theirs out before I make that decision.

i would pick JUN or HKS
And then AMS.
Now for me is these companies are far far away, i have to pick the parts up and do it myself.
Then for finalize the deal i'll go to Sean Ivey !

I live forever away from any tuners. I been looking, but the closest I can find from my house in Oklahoma City is 300+ miles away, so I will have to do almost everything my self which is very scary since I'm not very car smart. I figure I can do pretty much anything if I have some good how to instructions though. I plan on just getting a generic tune whenever the AccesPort Device comes out. There is not even a 4 wheel dyno in the entire state lol. If you drive a mustang, vette, or camaro you are golden in this state, tons of tuners, but if you drive anything else your screwed. Except for the BMW guys who like dinan stuff there is a dealer in Tulsa.

nothing can beat the dyno tune. I would never do a mail in tune or never let non pro tune my car.
Make a trip to one of these tuners and you will never regret it. Just make sure you will have ALL the parts ready for the tune.So what ever you want to install ,do it before a tune. So you dont need a trip twice and pay twice :) 300+ miles is not that bad for once , actually can be fun too :)
But if you are too far from these guys, you can let them to give you a mail in tune, Its better then nothing. This is my "i like the name " order :

-Sean Ivey /Ivey tune/
-AMS
-Works
-Vishnu
-TurboTrix
-Perrin
-Vivid Racing
-AGP

Stay away from Dynoflash or the Big AL.
look up him with the google search and you will find many complains etc.

It would be lots of fun if I didnt have to take 2 little kids and a wife with me. Wife was already against me buying the car. I cant imagine her wanting me to drive 1k miles to go spend the day on the dyno. I would love to do it, but not really an option for me unless someone wants to open a shop here in Oklahoma lol

I feel your pain dcasandman. I will have to settle for a generic mail in tune or something.

Im waitng for the Accessport device comes out so I can at least have a few tunes to choose from (I think they hold 3). I hear it is anywhere form 3 months to 6 months away.

I think you should also state why your picking them.
ie
Customer service and support
Previous experience
Pricing
Specific technical assumptions.. ie they have a dyno so they can dyno tune whilst mods are being added etc.

I would most likely use HKS and AMS

AMS, just due to their Evo reputation, as well as the experience my buddies have had with them.

I will be going with Perrin for most of my stuff. I have worked with Perrin quite a bit over the past 5 years, and have always been impressed with their responsiveness, attention to detail, and overall support of the community.

Buschur. AMS most likely for a tune because they are near by.

Parts wise, I'd go with AMS or ETS, and obviously if Vishnu markets an exhaust I'd go with them. Tuning, you can't get any better than Vishnu in my opinion. And, considering the versatility of the PROcede, the sky is the limit!

Once HKS gets the harness done for the F-Con V Pro there will be nothing better for full streetability (retains the stock ECU for non-air/fuel/ignition functions), accuracy (A 32 x 32 resolution map for both fuel and ignition), reliability (HKS electronics components are second to none in quality control), exclusivity (Pro tuner only, so you can't get bold and fuck up your maps), versatility (4 switchable sub-maps), adaptability (you can go either D-jetro or L-jetro) and safety (feedback safety system from wideband O2 sensor to cut timing when un-safe lean condition is imminent.

Shiv's got a great Haltech, I mean, Proceed. =)
