I have thought about this mod from day one of seeing the X. From what I have seen of the front bumper removed it seems as though you can just cut off the plastic extension that comes off the blacked out center bar.

However two things are of concern, once cut out will one be able to smooth the plastic to blend in with the rest of the section? (probably not). And is there black wire mesh behind the badge? If there isn't you'd have to get new mesh for that section which isn't a big deal. The smart easy way would be to black it out or go red with it which has proven to look very nice.

Sandman, post some pics when you finish with the black out : )

Definitely will post when i get it black out. I have a vacation coming up in a couple months will probably do it then. Im going to send it to a friend of mine that owns a body shop to have it done. I want it to look really clean, so Im going to have painted in a flat black to match the rest of the grill. May also be taking off the big spoiler and putting a Lip spoiler on the back if anyone knows a site I can get one from.

Your Mitsubishi dealer should already have the lip spoiler although i don't know the part number. It comes on the aerokit equipped base models. There is a thread some where on the forums with a picture of one.

I also have photoshoped picture of an Evo with the badge cut out but don't know how to post pictures that are on my local machine. If some one would be so kind as to tell me how i will put them up.

The badge itself will come out, but it will just leave a blank "socket" for the emblem to fit into.

Nice, this is the only obstacle for a completely de-badge car. Once complete a lot people won't be able to tell which car they just got spanked by.

We did it ad it required cutting, fibertech, sanding and painting. But it was SO worth it.

They will be looking at your taillights when they get owned, not at the front xD

I dont know. I think removing the emblem is like removing the heart of the car. It doesnt look like the Evo to me anymore.

love this, can you post a simple how to? or does it require some skilled work??? Id invest serious time to accomplish this, but don't want to mess it up.

Looks really good. Did they have to take the grill off the car to do it?

MR Dan, nice lip, got the same one. :shades:
*might wanna put back in the OEM intercooler guides, wind tunnel designed.

I'd do the varis IMO, adds a nice splash of CF besides the lip, badgeless but no empty space.

I actually bought a new grill and cut the emblem off myself. The body shop filled the cut area (plastic weld) and color matched it. Those metal mesh have extremely sharp edges so got to be careful not to poke yourself during removal/install.

Pricing will vary at all body shop...shouldnt be more than $100

I personally like leaving the Mitsu badge on, but the flip side is you'll keep people guessing what kind of car you're driving.
