: Forum Feature Request: ability to block specific members' posts

I know it's completely unrealistic, and poses many problems such as being able to actually follow the full meaning of threads, but god damn it I wish I could block all posts from a select few members. As it is now, all I need to do is read the name, and then skip their post. But I'm human, and despite my best efforts sometimes I can't help but read their posts, and then get annoyed.

So here's my request. Can we please add a feature that allows us to maintain a personalized "block" list which makes select members' threads "invisible"?

Just a dream.

Just ask yourself: who goes out of their way to respond negatively to almost every post and seems to make an effort to be nothing but an dick 99% of the time? There's one.

Then ask yourself: who goes out of their way to post elaborate responses that try to be hipster, funny, condesending, and often very rude. And for some unknown reason many people seem to love these posts and declare their love and dedication for this person. There's another.

Then there are some randoms here and there.

Don't get me wrong. I know the obvious answer here is for me to stop reading. And I'm absolutely being a hypocrite, because I often make the argument that if you don't like what they are showing on TV or saying on the radio, change the channel.

But yeah, those are some of the people.

Just tried it out. Pretty sweet. It shows that the person posted something, but tells you that it is blocked since the person is on your ignore list. You can still click on "show post". But if I don't have the self control not to click on that, then I suck at life.

hmmm, it's interesting that you would mention those two people. I was just describing hypothetical people. But you feel those descriptions match those two people huh? Weird. Maybe I'll have to consider adding them to my ignore list :innocent:

does it block it when the ignored's ppls's comments are quoted? Doubt it, but thought to ask, as I don't have anyone I need to ignore.

How about a "Stalk" feature. Where they can't ignore you. I'd buy that for a dollar.
