to all who are looking for a place to put their boost guage other than on the iffy a-pillar due to the airbag, im currently working with a local customs shop to make one that attaches to the right of the speedo-tach area as well as one to go in the vent on the right side of the driver much like many boosted audi drivers do. i am going in thursday to check on progress as thats when ill be back in town. i will keep you all informed.

btw if you are happy with taking a chance on the a-pillar gauges flying off and into u in a wreck, then by all means go with it. lol. im not saying you are all bad drivers, but there are a lot out there who like to find nice cars with their bumpers.

I was at a junk yard the other day and there was wrecked Lancer GTS with the a-pillar air bag deployed and after seeing that there is no possible way the gauges would fly off and hit the driver. The a-pillar goes towards the window not the driver and the air bag is at the top so it goes down and away from the driver towards the window. So the only problem would be your gauges possible hitting the window and breaking.

But a custom gauge pod at this point would be welcome.

yes, but on both forum sites for the evoX i have read through, people who want to add a boost gauge are iffy about dong it because it MAY mess up the air bag, or they are concerned again about the pillar coming back at them.

thanks for letting me know about how the pillar deploys, as i have been lucky enough to not be hit in the week that ive had my evoX. updates to come all.

With this added to the mix I'm pretty sure there is enough info out there to stop worrying about the A-pillar :P
