Hey all,

I just joined the EVO community here in the Northeast and have a 2011 EVO MR.

I have 20+ years of HP Track and SOLO 2 instructor/student/organizer experience and am also very active in both SCCA and BMW arenas. Run and organize schools, etc....

NHMS used to be (NHIS) is my home track...Over 125 days up there as a driver, or instructor.

I can help all of you out getting discounts with every track school in NE if you truely want to learn how to drive your toys.

You can spend tons of cash on go go parts but a well trained driver will kick butt over the Ricer all day long.

Sooo? Who really wants to see what there EVO can do?

Hope to be a NEEVO member real soon!

I'm down for a group school thing. a discount track day with evos would be awesome. count me in. closest that i know of (for me) English town, NJMP, Poconos, Waltkin, and lime rock.

Whats the best school in the NE? i heard about skip barber being pretty good.

Looked up summit point and it is about 6 hours away from me. I found a couple in Ohio that are closer. One is right outside of Cleveland and the other is in Mansfield. Anyone know anything about either of those two?

If you're out that way, Mid Ohio is a great track, one of the best in the country. Also Beaver Run is a nice little track. Very safe with good run-off, and a hell of a lot cheaper. I'd suggest Beaver Run if its your first time on the track. The Allegheny Region PCA (Porsche Club of America) region that runs there is an excellent group. Here's some links:

Thanks for the reply. Yea mid-Ohio was one of the track names. But on their website the other day I saw that most of the things they had were affiliated with Honda/Acura. Does this mean if I want to go take the driver safety course that I have to drive one of their honda's? And I will look into the other track.

no they usually just rent the track out to third party groups and let that group manage the booking and advertising.

Here's a good start:
http://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1170

If you have the choice between doing a one or two day event, i HIGHLY suggest doing two days! You'll spend most of the first day getting over the jitters and settling in. The second day is where you really start to learn and have fun :)

Ok I will try to do that. I don't have the X yet waiting on my racecar to sell before I buy it. I should have it in the next 2 months. The two days dies make more sense than the one. Thanks for the help. Will be looking over the links tonight.

...In more said news, hug your EVO next time you see it; rumors are out that the EVO is to be killed off. See news on forum. I hope it is not true/reconsidered.

Goodnight, sweet prince.

Yea I have to wait a couple months to buy mine! I'm flipping out eight now because no Mitsubishi dealer in my area even has an evo I'm interested in. There is only one that is within 3 hours of me and it's an MR which I'm want gsr. And yea as soon as I buy it I'm wanting to break it in then start running at some track. If you all come to a track close enough I'll definitely come up there. Just depends on my work schedule but should be able to get that worked out.

Call south coast mitsu, they're in LA so you'll either have drive back or ship. No joke their prices are the lowest, got my 2010 gsr non SSS for 30,695. They also have over 100 in stock but probably not for long. Id buy before it's official.

Going to pick up one of those Go Pro HD cameras (http://gopro.com/cameras/hd-motorsports-hero-camera/) to film at the track. We'll have to pass it around so everyone can get some footage and I'll edit it all together :)

I'm in Concord, driving a RR GSR. Don't go over to Dover too often though. Whats your color?

I'd love to get some track time in Loudon, a few of my friends have been on that track and have said good things about the track.

GoPro HD is a great choice, make sure to get the motorsport version and a mem card, at least 16GB, high speed.

ZeroCooll21
03-03-2011, 01:14 PM
Yeep thats the plan. I was looking at this one kind that is powered by the car and records continuously for 15 hours with GPS, speed, and time stamps. The quality of the video is pretty poor though so for a little more $ I can use the GoPro for the same thing. Just, need to keep it charged lol.

Welcome, I am always looking for discounts. I would love to do more events but my wallet does not allow it. Unfortunately I have to do autocross which is not nearly as much fun.

I have run with PCA, COM, and ACNA in the past but am a member of other clubs too.

I think COM and BMWCCA have the best prices, past few years tracks like Glen, Lime Rock increased their fees.

I'll be running with COM and BMW this year....Glen and NH.
