: HVAC drawing hot engine bay air when car is not in motion

I'm wondering if others have observed this same issue or not. When the car is stopped or going slowly in traffic, even when the weather is cool, the ventilation system appears to draw in more and more of the engine bay's warm air over time. This is most evident when the A/C compressor is off as the automatic climate control tries to compensate by increasing the fan speed (if that's left to auto), but all it does is bring in more of the warm air. This is not a problem if the A/C is on as it can easily overpower the warm air, or when the car is in motion. I'm suspecting that the cabin air intakes tend to suck in some of the hot air from the engine bay? Has anyone else observed this? I wonder if it's specific to the Ralliart, to the Ralliart and Evo, or to the Lancer in general.

Not sure what you are saying. If you are as far as you can go on cool without the A/C on your get warm air through the vents? That would be normal

What I'm saying is that once the car is stopped, the air coming through the vents is much warmer than when the car was moving. It's definitely pulling in air from the engine bay because it has that light oil smell too. I can understand if the air warms up a bit, but I've not noticed this much of a difference on any other car I've driven. It seems that the HVAC intake may depend too much on vehicle speed to pull in truly fresh air.
