: Silicone vacuum hoses
TRUSTcompany9000 05-14-2008, 11:42 PM Can anyone tell me what the actual size of the silicone vacuum hoses that run under the engine are? I know there are two or three different sizes down there. What I want to do is replace all the stock tubing with red tubing
ikuto 05-15-2008, 01:59 AM Not to mention they last longer than the rubber which tends to crack overtime...it sucks trying to find the source of the boost leaks when it does happen.
rikieru 05-15-2008, 02:10 AM I used 4mm for the hoses connecting the EBC and 6mm for the intake manifold where I connected my boost gauge.
Kooldino 05-15-2008, 09:13 PM For most of the tubes, you can use 3/16", but for certain ones (such as the one that runs to the FPR) you're going to need 1/8", which is only available in black:

Kooldino 05-15-2008, 10:09 PM Not sure what you wrote, but I'm guessing you were bad at fractions? :P

No, I was asking for the quantity, but then after the 10th time I read it. I saw it was per foot.
Kooldino 05-15-2008, 10:15 PM Haha, fair enough.
TRUSTcompany9000 05-16-2008, 12:43 AM My buddy actually found a package deal where we could get treated silicone tubing in a big package deal, 6 different sizes about 20 foot each, for all of 100 bucks. We're gonna split the cost and the tubing, as I don't really see myself using all that much tubing lol
Kooldino 05-16-2008, 12:46 AM Sweet.
Be sure to buy more than you think you'll need.
TRUSTcompany9000 05-16-2008, 12:49 AM Yeah, we're getting about 30 feet total of the two smaller sized tubing, and then 20 feet of the other 4 sizes. If that doesn't do it, I'd be rather suprised.
SiliconTek 06-05-2009, 06:44 PM Hose Techniques has them in 4 colors by the foot and in many sizes.

All I gotta say is support the vendors here. :)

They also have universal kits with enough hose for most vehicles...matching color zip ties, cutting tools, etc. I still have a TON of blue left over from my TT.
But if I do this for the Evo, I'm supporting an Evo vendor I like, not a generic hose company.
Anyone have a writeup yet of all the vac hoses and where they go/their sizes and lengths/etc?
