Hi everybody, i need inputs for my circumstance. :)

Situation: 2008 evo x with 32k, the car did not start after 5-10 minutes of driving. the starter made a lot of metal rattling noise and the engine did not turn over. a friend recommended push start and it started right up. once i came home and turn the car off i then waited a few seconds to restart the car. The same metallic rattling noise came and no engine turn over.

History: My car recently had a clutch job done about a month ago and i have been noticing a slight metalic rattling noise coming from the engine area but never got the opportunity to look at what was making the noise.

Recommendation: 1st - i am planning to jack the car up and check the starter connection/condition. 2nd - buy another starter

Someone didn't put the housing bolts in which bolt the starter in. Good luck man.

Check yourself to be sure. Unless you really trust that shop. :rock:

update - the shop called and said the ring gear around my map performance flywheel is not intact to the flywheel. they told me to order a new flywheel and they will open up the transmission and see if it's installation error or flywheel error. i called map performance and ordered another map flywheel. potter from modern automotive performance told me to send back the failed flywheel and map will inspect if it is indeed error and do some-sort of refund. flywheel will come to the shop on thursday and i will update.

This scares me. I'm planning on the MAP FW. Hope there isn't an issue with the ring to plate...
