Do you have the Rockford Fosgate?
I was wondering how it will work. Obviously DVDs turn them selves off when moving, I assume the Camp2 will bypass that function?

No, I have an Alpine GPS Navigation but I'm sure the Fosgate system will work too. You just connect it to your OBD2 connector and the AUX RCA plug on the back of your Navi. I don't think the Camp will bypass the safety feature (turn off while driving). You'll probably need to bypass that in a different way. In Japan Blitz sells a system to bypass that feature.

Just bought mine from Japan :D

Still waiting for the Alpine set to go in before fitting it ..

what would be the use of this system if it turned off when you are driving? isnt the idea that you can monitor boost ext., ext. while driving?

There's a bypass mod that you can do .. mine comes with it .. and I believe it's available with other media players too ..

But anyway.. the movement thing is reference to playing DVD .. you're just using the AV input .. it's not affected ..

I've been looking at this unit as well. Since this would need to use the video in plug, for folks that didn't get the nav system from mitsu that would work fine i think. For those of us that got the factory nav system, there are only Right and Left audio inputs. How would this unit work in that case? Perhaps thats what that Blitz product does?

If so i am one happy mother f'ing camper right now

I thought if it's stock it should come like this ??
3 jacks standard for A/V input ..

Sorry .. not very familiar .. but the audio system IS factory installed :shades:
I get a choice of Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood etcetc ..

Oh as for Blitz .. its the same as the HKS .. you need the yellow video in .. the only thing that made me go for HKS is there is no external sensor source for the Blitz.. you only get OBD data .. HKS you get to have boost, temp, EGT etc optional extras :)

Yup mine looks exactly like that, except the first plug on the left is totally missing. I think if i recall its a side effect of the navi's gps unit wiring. I'm hoping someone comes up with a way to by pass it. Would hate to have to yank the factory nav and replace it.

Can you plug in a wideband O2 sesor?
With the device's logging capabilty that would be necessary.

Yes you can but it'll have to be a HKS AF unit ..

Probably a stupid question.... but can you still play music while using the device at the same time?

If you consider the sound of the Evo's engine, turbo spooling up, BOV, etc. to be music, then yes.

So you always drive with the CAMP2 display on and listen to music provided by 4B11T? :shades:

I am just curious if we can have the screen displaying the gauges reading while still listening to the music at the same time. It will be best of both world if that is possible.

True, but my son and wife might appreciate normal music more often then the BOV...:p

On my Alpine unit, I can play music from my iPod while displaying DVD movies simply by selecting the display to DVD (there is an option to select AUX too so I am guessing it is possible).

Yeah, I wouldn't go factory nav anyway. I like the new Pioneer with voice activation, etc. I am certain it has a similar function.

it can be plugged into any monitor, as long as there is the video rca component in it.
its just entirely up to you if you want to drive around with your mac in your lap :p

you have to mod a video input in order to have the 3 common aux rca jacks, you can also order the part they usually are common in the gts. i modded mine by taking a video out of a dvd player and saughtering it onto the circuit board and buying an extra fork to saugter on it. ill be posing a how to maybe soon, but all-in-all,
its useless because there is not a bypass out yet for the vid rca. only dvd.

just get yourself an aftermarket deck if you are really considdering camp1 or 2

Well, I bit the bullet on the factory Nav, but I got it for $540 installed, so its hard to walk away from a deal like that. Camp 2 shouldn't be too far behind.
And I've been in the MR with tech pack and it had a video input. Still waiting to get mine installed, will let you know if they add the pretty little yellow jack.

^^^ they won't, trust me.

I owned an 08 lancer gts before the evo. When i bought the GTS I bought a car off the lot cause it had everything I wanted minus the nav. They swapped it out with another car, but I later found out they didn't change the "aux" box. So I did a quick (1.5hour) mod to get the rca input. I had written a "how-to" on how I did it but it got lost evidently, and I'll see if I can't write another one soon. check this thread out:

oh... but when I bought the Evo I just got the SSS package and had them swap my navi in, and yet again they didn't change the "aux" box.

Why are you bothering with camp 2, stock nav and aux input modding?
Stock nav won't display anything when you are in motion, which defeats the whole purpose of having camp 2. And if you plug the Capm 2 into the stock aux in, it will look really bad - you better hardware it under the dash and hide the leads.

not compatible.
if you REALLY want HKS camp2, youl need a different head unit. The dvd motion off road patch is out for some of the factory navis (depending on your version), but this does not apply to the aux mode.
And installing your own video jack is not very hard. If Ddawg doesnt get his how to up for a while, you can pm me to write one up if youd like.

there is more than 1 way to override video in motion problem.

well good luck with over riding your aux. imo i would rather not do a switch to over ride it. but its up to you. But a switch is the only way to over ride the aux, and i have not seen anyone try that yet.

Hi,

Is there a way to make this device works with the Mitsubishi Navi system? I have ordered an Evo X with such Navigation system, so I dont even know if it has A/V inputs.

Thank you,
Ziki

Welcome :)

this has been discussed many times. No, it will not work with your navi from mitsu.
Remeber, search is your friend :shades:
You will have to order a different HU if you want Camp 2.

good luck :)

When I got the nav unit they didn't install the video aux input jack. However, I ordered one ( I believe they had to look it up under the outlander) and installed it, and it works perfect. It was easy to swap out too, it plugged right in. NOw to order the Camp2

Camp 2 looks interesting to me. I don't want lots of guages or a guage pod. I definitely suggest aftermarket nav. I have a kenwood 9140 and love it. Fully unlocked and it can play music while in aux vid modes.

Somebody put up some screenies!

I just got another unit for my EVO X. I have one in one of my Bimmers. Don't forget to get FULL use out of this piece you should also purchase the optional sensors at the bottom. Also not listed, i purchased the HKS FCON Harness to be able to view whats going on in the area of the vehicle.

If anyone is interested in the FCON Harness, here is the part number:

48002-AK002 F-CON接続用ケーブル ¥1,050 (¥1,000)

That there is absolutely NOT TRUE and really doesn;t make sense because the HKS AFK Air/Fuel Knock Amp comes with it's own O2 sensor (wide-band).

It works fine with the US cars we have installed and used it. Why wouldn't it though it is somewhat universal.

all you need is an aux or an aftermarket AV/Source selector. any LCD HU should work...if not then you'll need a seperate LCD, you can pick a nice one up for about $40 to $150...

Not for the AFK, it comes with a display screen, O2 sensor and everything else you need. All you need is something that runs on gas and a 12V power source
