So my car will be back next week and i have a carbon fiber roof now. what do you think the best base coat of wax to put on it would be?

Have it shot with REAL clearcoat immediately! That is THE area of highest exposure. Strip that UV Gel crap away and put some protection on it, THEN wax it 6 months later.

+1, clear coat plus layers of wax or sealant.

Congrats. As you're not a hobbyist detailer, I'd suggest Duragloss 105. You can buy it at NAPA, CarQuest, directly from Duragloss, or any number of web-based detailing stores. It's very easy to apply and remove, and it's one of a handful of the most durable products around. Good luck.

That's a very shop-specific question. All shops charge different rates for labor and/paint & materials. It's probably somewhere around 2.5 hours book time for a roof refinish, deduct for no paint since you're just wrapping it with clear. I'd say all said and done the $300 range would be "fair". It's an investment and a cheap one considering the money spent on the roof job alone. They'll rope the front and back glasses, cover car for overspray and probably color-sand the orange peel. Ask around at shops, and pick a GOOD shop that uses Standox, Sickens or PPG product. No same day paint place.

i use IBIZ wax on all my carbon fiber but clearcoating it is a most specially on a roof you dont want it to yellow or fade or cloud
