Hi,
Has anyone every worked with clay bars + detailing.
I have rail dust on my ww lancer. I saw some cheap clay bar on ebay but people mention that I may need a lube as well.
Your thoughts?

yes you need some kind of lubricant. like the 2 previous posts said the kits are sold with 2 clay bars. spray detailer and a micro fiber cloth. there about $17-25 you kneed the clay. spray the clay bar and spray the area that your going to clay bar. its very easy to do.

Any bar will work. Just keep water running constantly over where you are claying. The 'lubricant' that comes in those kits is pretty much a waste. It's usually just spray wax anyway.

Yeah no point in buying clay bars online, just buy a kit from any hardware store.

Use a quick detailer or clay lube... water does not have enough slickness for clay usage. You'll end up with a lot of scratches after claying if you don't use lube.

Agreed. Water really isn't great. I often clay while washing: Wash the car, hit a given area with a foam gun and clay, rinse, and move on to the next panel. Saves a lot of time, especially if one's hose is equipped with quick disconnects.
