Man, how about limiting the number of posts per minute or second! :wtfsign:

Useless info too.

He needs to be given an infraction and have his post count reset.

It has to be a reactive system. I can and have done an amazing amount of posts per minute, but wasn't rushing towards 50 posts. The only thing they can do is just reset his post count later.

50 posts is a SHIT TON on this forum, as slow moving as it is, so it's not like you can do it stealthy.

I especially enjoyed when he commented "I don't use mine" in reagrds to the windshield washer thread. Like how in the **** do you not use your washer fluid? He must live in the land of magical pixie dust where nothing ever sticks to his window.

Just remove the 50 post limit. It does nothing but create extra work for all regular members and mods.

We will just have to learn to be careful is all.

We do the best we can to catch this type of thing guys. You guys do a good job too and together we can catch most of the BS. I already started to delete his posts and he will be receiving an infraction very soon

blk-majik

or make it '50 posts and a member for more than 30 days'

most people just trying to sell shit would rather CL/ebay it before then

Just remove the 50 post limit. It does nothing but create extra work for all regular members and mods.

We will just have to learn to be careful is all.

You'd then have a massive amount of bots trying to sell stuff, or make it incredibly easy to scam people by making new accounts.

It's the best way to do it. You can't, on this forum, make 50 posts in a day and go un-noticed, unless you're me on a bender in the morning. So you're going to get "caught". At that point, you're either going to be banned, or knocked back down to 0 posts, so you're not going to be able to sell the item right away. If you're going to scam someone for 40$ ,chances are you won't hang around and actually make semi-constructive posts, 50 of them, to scam someone.

It'd be like if I, in a blaze of glory, decided to rip someone off and tried to sell my shortblock, then LOLOLOLed and ran away with their money. 8k+ posts and a massive amount of my life just to get 2 grand? Ain't gonna happen.

ebay doesn't require it.
craigslist doesn't require it.
I'm on several ATV forums that don't require it.

My CC and paypal will help if I get screwed, that's why I have that protection. Yea I know it's not 100%, but for a small transaction item I'll take that risk.

Hell, this and evom are the first ones that I have been on that required it.

The value of goods isn't any higher than anywhere else.

I don't know how the bots work get passed the new member process, but improve that process.

As far as the true scammers, I don't see how 50 posts makes you more credible. Sure on here, it's hard not to get noticed. So that's all the more reason that we don't need it. Because the newbie's will stick out.

we get it! you want to be part of the forum. but did you read the rules? it looks bad like doo doo stains on your collar, replying to posts that were made before Justin Beiber was famous..

Its not that you CANT sell on here. Its how youare going about it. You get on some random threads and say "free bump". How is that contributing to anything? We have these rules in place for a reason. Its not to pick on you or anyone else, its just how it is. Everyone here has the same set of rules to follow and us MODs are here to try and keep the peace. Not everyone is going to like it but that is just how it is. If you want to continue this please feel free to PM me and we can work it out.

I say we should make a one month requirement I addition to 50posts so that will stop somebody from just jumping on and doing 50 postsand then starts selling stuff.

I agree with a time period. I joined evom two months ago and have like 10 posts. I say it would be a good idea to have a 30 day "member period" along with the post limit, until you can sell parts. Just a suggestion really. The mods are the ones in charge really so its up to them.

Make it at least 3 months before you can sell OR you need to make some sort of sizable donation to the site to get to sell quicker.

Heh, I've been a member of several computer forums for almost 10 years, and probably have 100 posts combined. IIRC, on [H], I have maybe 35 posts.
