there is more to be had, tuner is just looking into the sst tables to get more out of the tranny.

The most power a x swap has made is 319 WHP to date. Its in calgary.
The major mod difference was the HKS wastegate actuator, and no pointless grim speed boost solenoid.

i've finally had enough of your crap talk princess... this forum, western subaru... all you are is a troll. Sure i've read that the stock car / ecu and stock boost controller can handle what we throw at. I CHOSE to put the 3 port on my unit as well as I CHOSE to get it tuned at Airboy tuning. I will spend my money my way and you can yours. My car hasn't blown up yet and until it does I will take your comments with a grain of salt. When you have the credentials of people like Bryan @ GST or the Crew at AMS etc I will start taking note of your comments.
You ... are NOBODY.
Go back to your cave and unless you have constructive criticism ... keep it to yourself. And if you are going to make statements ... back them up with FACTS. ie: "pointless grim speed boost solenoid"

The whole point of the 3port is to give you better control it will help with the boost taper to hold boost longer.. You may think its pointless out shear arrogance. There are many write ups and test done on 3 port system and they are recommended for most turbo upgrades...
I would love to hear why you believe 3 port boost solenoid's are pointless. I'm sure others would love to hear your theory on it also.

ya it's funny how he thinks they are pointless. Funny how CBRD just build a 400whp X and it is using a 3 port as well. :bowlol:

I think he was referring to peak power. Which it won't net you peak power, just a more broader power curve. To go out and say its worthless is stupid.

pounder 06-15-2011, 04:46 PM Just finished Plasti-dipping my front end & debadging the trunk... and here are some pictures of the process and the final product for your viewing pleasure. I used almost 2 cans of plasti-dip for my ring and the lower section of the front bumper. 4 coats each with 30 minutes in-between for drying time and about 7 hours off the car (over night) for drying time after that.
PS - Used an Oprah Magazine for over spray protection ... about the only good thing that magazine is good for haha!

You should black out your headlights! That would look sweeet
Agreed and if you can ditch the fogs!
BitsuMishi 06-15-2011, 08:16 PM BTW, where's your full build? Is that in your sig? I don't see an IC or exhaust mani in there and I thought those were pretty much required for an EvoX turbo swap. Pardon me if I'm mistaken, I'm pretty new with all this stuff.
jackfrog 06-15-2011, 08:19 PM definitely to lower the car.

Hit & Run
Some dickbag hurt my baby in the Parking lot for the Ponoka Stampede. For those of you that havn't heard of the Ponoka Stampede it is the largest 7 day rodeo in Canada. The town population goes from 6500 people to nearly 90,000. Lots of Cowboys... Indians... Horses... and Drinking. Anyways my Company EnCana puts on a BBQ down at the grounds that I attended and my car got effed up while I was enjoying a good meal. Just got an estimate of just under $2000 damage (like $1960). Looks like I will end up paying a $500 deductible for some morons mistake.
Cheers to you chicken sh*t cockb*g that hits and runs and doesnt leave a note...
Anyways I'm done ranting and here are a couple pictures. My mirror and front passenger side rota also have white scuff marks on.

I think the hood is fine. Just the front fender is messed up. Haha ya X fenders would be awesome but i couldn't justify all that work through the insurance company lol. Also I would regret only getting 8.5 Rotas, they would look silly with wide ass X fenders.
Also... just put on my Orange stitched KidneyTheif boot. Looks good but you guys don't get to see pictures until I get a new knob!

You ever thought of putting a different wing on her?
haha yes our differences .... but seriously if you came to Canada I would get you drunk on Canadian Beer!!
I've thought about the X wing but some angles it doesn't look so great since we don't have the wide body. I've thought about an Evo 8/9 Wing which i don't think looks too bad but the top of my list is probably going wingless with a lip which I think would look the best.
I really like the ass end on an X more than my RA but this is the unit i've got to work with so i'll try and make it look swell.

orange09ralliart 07-06-2011, 01:54 PM Do you have to take the whole front bumper off in order to take the ring off for painting? I have a rotor glow ralliart as well and would love to do the same thing.

some of the early, early, early models didn't need to, but Mitsu changed how the chrome nose-ring is mounted about 3 or more times, each newer one making it harder/impossible without taking off the bumper
so chances are you have to take it off, but it really isn't as hard as it seems. I was scared at first, but now it's nothing
Evo X FMIC install (something every RA owner should do) is the perfect time to black the ring :shades:

Exactly. I had my bumper off in 15 mins and back on in 10. Prolly waste a bunch more time trying to get the ring off by itself. There are threads on evom how to do just the ring. Google it.

pounder 07-28-2011, 04:36 PM i just think the anodization process gives a bit more *bling* like this. But I havn't looked into any of this stuff or what I can do with what process or prices etc. So you may know better than I.

no the bolts are SS can't anodize SS. Need to get Al bolts like I did, or just buy from tastynuts ;)
pounder 07-28-2011, 04:43 PM no the bolts are SS can't anodize SS. Need to get Al bolts like I did, or just buy from tastynuts ;)
ahh I might have to look that up. But back to my original question... because I have AMS aluminum pipes I should be able to have them anodized correct? as well as my intake piping?
TheSin 07-28-2011, 05:12 PM yuppers you can, but anodizing doesn't stand heat as well as powder does it's what you don't see many anodized IC pipes.
pounder 07-28-2011, 05:18 PM yuppers you can, but anodizing doesn't stand heat as well as powder does it's what you don't see many anodized IC pipes.
ahh see i didnt know that. I figured because anodization is almost like part of the metal that it would be fine... and I would wanna be able to withstand heat especially on my hot pipe.

it's just a dye that penetrates about 4 mil of the metal, without sealing it the ink can still burn, fade (from UV) etc etc. Hard anodizing adds a clear on top of it, you could anodize then clear powder likely but I'm not sure if the ink would resist heat.
pounder 08-01-2011, 06:34 PM Update: Just got my AEM gauges and Rexpeed A Pillar installed as well as got my wideband logging set up to work with a little bit of soldering.... next step: Clipse3gT tune.

I'm not taking a picture of that crappy A pillar that won't stick on with double sided tape... i was thinking maybe velcro would work better. I hope DSG has something in the works for a replacement pillar because I want one bad.

ya it just makes me a little bitter... it's functional at least. I WILL be replacing it with an aftermarket pillar the moment one comes on the market.

pounder 08-11-2011, 01:51 AM VD Run on my current tune. Picked best run out of 10 taken tonight. Temp 21c. Elevation 900m. Barometric pressure 91 kPa. Tire correction on as well. 3rd gear pull from 2000rpm+. Smoothing 3.
Going to use this as a comparison for my Clipse tune that I will begin work on this weekend.

pounder 08-12-2011, 05:02 AM update august 11.
loaded clipse basemap and sent back first set of logs... very excited.
pounder 09-30-2011, 02:49 PM slammed the RA on a set of Eibach Pro's and am still in the process of tuning the car with Clipse. Going to take the car to a close by road race track tomorrow for a private track day and hope to keep up with the evo's, lambo's, porsche's etc.
pounder 10-25-2011, 11:29 PM a lil' update for all those following... bought a SSS wing from a local member, took it, my oem strut bar and my rexpeed cf engine cover to the paint shop for some rotor glow goodness. Will post pix soon.
Also, my Clipse tune is nearing completion. Floating around the 335ish whp area... not bad for a RA eh?
pounder 11-07-2011, 11:40 PM Update: I'm on my last Clipse revision and the numbers are pretty staggering. Going to go do one final set of runs on wednesday or thursday and will post the comparison numbers.
Also, just got some pretty parts for the car. Painted my Rexpeed CF Engine cover Rotor glow (you can still see the weave faintly through it). Factory strut bar RG and I got an MR wing for my RA and got it painted RG... also some pics of my car wingless... enjoy.

Clutches are perfectly fine and no slippage but there has hardly been any driving at this power/torque. I have not taken it to the drag strip, that will come in the spring. I have taken it to a local track and the car had plenty of power, just lacked some driver mod, and better braking :shades:
pbassist12 01-10-2012, 02:03 AM Nice. Cant wait to see the results. My goal is to break into 11
aaguilar34 01-11-2012, 03:36 AM Hey guys I just got a 2012 ralliart, and I want to make it a sleeper and do some mods too. Any help will be appreciated. I also would like to know about any clubs in town.

(MECA) team-meca.ca is the club that most of us on this forum belong to. PM Weebles or Skylineguv for info on how to join up. Last year we had a few meets together, beer & wing nights, and some of us have tried to make wing & boobie nights. Feel free to PM me any questions on RA related power inquiries. I've done alot of studying on the subject and know most of the routes people go to make our cars faster.
pounder 01-18-2012, 02:22 PM Since jrox is getting all the ra attention lately Here are a couple more old ones for competition.

DocBoz 01-18-2012, 03:32 PM Minus all the decals and stock ride height it looks good.
its his style so what how gay would it be if all our cars looked the same?
The most power a x swap has made is 319 WHP to date. Its in calgary.
The major mod difference was the HKS wastegate actuator, and no pointless grim speed boost solenoid.
now you sir are a tool and evidently know less than nothing about a 3 port and probably anything car related...
and now to the OP nice numbers nice car one question tho, why do you have a VD graph posted and a video of dyno run? do you have the graph from that run? id be interested to see how it compares to your VD graph
TheSin 01-18-2012, 04:09 PM the dyne vid was his first tune, he wasn't pleased with the numbers or at least figured there was more on the table and got an etune via Clipse, hence the new VD numbers/graph.

Pretty much exactly what thesin said. My Dyno numbers were 291whp and 325wtq on a Dyno dynamics. Because I couldnt compare Dyno numbers to a vd run I did a vd run on my old tune before I started with clipse. There is no difference in mods at all between tunes. The graph on the first page is a very accurate depiction of the difference in numbers I seen from a local tuner and clipse. To See that much gain in numbers is unacceptable in my books. Also the drivability of my car is so much better... Prolly because clipse knows how to adjust for the sst better.
I wouldn't have complained pounder, your ralliart is probably quicker than my X now though. :)
I'd just lower it. Love watching this car, maybe one day buy my green off me.

Lol thanks man. I.won't be happy until I go green and see 400whp. It is lowered as well on eibach pro kit springs.
recently lowered? and same goal here on my green. And no prob, its my favorite ralliart.

ah ok makes sense!
pounder 01-18-2012, 09:48 PM I lowered it a few months ago. It's been done for a while. It is lowered.in the last 2 pics I posted and also on the 2 on the first post. Those comments from secondchance are old.
TheNEWB 01-19-2012, 01:10 PM Love the results bro.
I wanna do this to our WW sportback :-)
pounder 02-14-2012, 12:33 AM Just added: DSG A Pillar

silthos 02-14-2012, 03:38 AM Pillar looks real nice!!!
How's the tranny holding up Pounder? any plans on upgrading the clutch packs to the SSP?
From what i've read; people are always saying the tranny can't hold up past 320-330whp/wtq. Well, to be more on the safe side.
pounder 02-14-2012, 01:31 PM I only have 25000km on my car so like 13000 miles or so. And next to none on this new tune. I park the car in the winter. Tranny is still in perfect condition. Come spring ill be putting in New sst fluid and filter. Alyesterday a bunch of tables for the sst were released for ecuflash so advancements on tuning the sst are coming along excellent. As for clutch packs... I'm thinking ill be leaving it stock until I run into problems.
I figure this because weebles who has a fp green with over 420whp in his Mr has just started seeing slipping and he has like 3 times the mileage on his car.
Ps silthos get a build page going bro.
silthos 02-14-2012, 01:44 PM I will after we finish up tuning and I go to the Dyno. Should have numbers in about two weeks.
navy8385 02-14-2012, 02:19 PM 13k miles damn dude u need to drive more im bout to hit 45k
pounder 02-14-2012, 02:31 PM Going on a road trip in April through the rocky mountains into British Columbia for a couple weeks. I'll put some mileage on then lol. It is so fun going through the windy mountain roads in the ra.

Ah, it all sounds good. At least now, i'll feel better being up there
*Didn't notice that silthos is rocking the FPred - can't wait to see this.
pounder 02-14-2012, 02:44 PM Ya I know ams had a ra with a red in it but ran into issues with it. That was a while ago tho. Red should be just fine with a conservative tune.
silthos 02-14-2012, 05:53 PM Yeah I spoke with a lot of people before deciding to go with the red. A lot has changed since AMS rocked the red (tuning wise) so this should be interesting.

Exactly. Tuning the sst was in its infancy back then.
pounder 02-22-2012, 01:37 AM Since there has been a bit of confusion of whether my car was lowered or not here is a picture when I took my stock wing off. You can see the drop well from this photo. Again taken with my phone so the car looks red...

aaguilar34 02-24-2012, 03:30 AM hey guys what is the fp stands for i see that a lot. i have a questions can you do the computer flash without major updates too. or should i wait until i do some more updates..
pounder 02-27-2012, 09:50 PM hey guys what is the fp stands for i see that a lot. i have a questions can you do the computer flash without major updates too. or should i wait until i do some more updates..
fp = forced performance. They are makes of very popular turbos for the Evo/RA Platform. FP Green, Red, Black.
Not sure what you are meaning about computer flash and major updates. Are you talking Windows Update?

ah okay so they got the fp turbo upgrades.. well i i was talking to eclipse and well i want to do the running on my car. and well i was wondering if i should wait until i do more upgrades or do it now. so far i got the cutback exhaust done and i have the bov too and the k&n stock replacement filter so fat. i want to do the test pipe and down pipes with the performance cat. and i want to do the intercooler and the pipes.so should i wait until i do that and then tune it or does it matter..
pounder 03-05-2012, 04:01 PM I personally did my whole build and had the tune done afterwards. Just to save time & money on tuning. It is up to you how you want to go.
aaguilar34 03-08-2012, 03:36 AM cool. that is what i was thinking too. he did give me a list of things and is pretty much all there too. where did you do your dyno test pounder. i wanted to see what my car does now. and see what the difference will be..
pounder 03-08-2012, 04:21 AM red deer has lightspeed innovations for a dyno and calgary has airboy tuning... those are the only awd dynos i know of. You could also just run before and after VD (virtual dyno) pulls for comparison.
aaguilar34 03-10-2012, 05:12 PM hey pounder that virtual dyno how can i do that bro. so when are we gonna meet bro. we should all hang out spring is here soon.
aaguilar34 03-26-2012, 12:55 AM hey guys what is the difference between fp red or fp green and fp black, with one is the best or witch one to choose for my ralliart.. i am not still sure what i want to do if i want a stock evo x or get a new one.. but i am getting ready to do something lol..
lol, be better off making that a new thread. For a ralliart, FpGreen all the way or buy a stock X turbo, but seriously make a new thread...
pounder 03-31-2012, 08:29 PM updated post #1 with a ton more new photos including *new* engine bay pix!
silthos 03-31-2012, 09:36 PM Damn your car looks good. Great job
Tiresomejunk 04-05-2012, 06:59 PM So I guess I have to upgrade from a stock x turbo to get more closer to 350 whp 350 wtq?
currently:
stock x turbo
stock x manifold
stock x FMIC
stock x bov
stock x spark plugs
piederberg ebc
AMS Widemouth Downpipe
stock ralliart exhaust
CBRD Custom intake for evo x swap
AMS UICP
UR LICP
Dynoed and Tuned by CBRD 294whp 290wtq mustang dyno
silthos 04-06-2012, 12:55 AM I would say yep on that one.
pounder 04-06-2012, 01:20 AM No I am on stock x turbo and am Damn near there. With 94 Oct should be over 350 easy.
silthos 04-06-2012, 03:56 AM Well there you go. Evo x swap ftw!!!
sstevojr 04-07-2012, 10:08 PM Tiresome is referring to the CBRD Mustang dyno he does his tuning on. No he can't make 350whp on a stock X turbo.

Ditto. Mustang dynos read much lower. I personally say who cars about the exact dyno numbers any way. The same dyno different days will read differently too. I bet my cars faster then pounders and my dyno numbers are lower lol.:dancebanana:

Well that rexpeed scoop might add 20 or so whp so I bet it is...
On another note... I'll prolly visit lightspeeds dynapack Dyno and get some numbers from him when I have a few spare funds lying around.
pounder 05-22-2012, 12:36 AM So i'm sure many of you have read of my incident with a rabbit... if not here it is.

So my question is ... since I have to replace the bumper should I go OEM or one of the following? I've never done aftermarket body parts so i have no idea of the quality. If so... which should I go??
OEM or

pounder 05-22-2012, 01:42 AM i just hate making my car more "evo looking"... even though I am one of the less poser RA or Lancer's out there. I definitely like 1 better as well and it pretty much takes care of the fog deletes.
Anyone have experience with these aftermarket kits? Are they good quality generally?
This is that kit.
http://www.autocityimports.com//2008-mitsubishi-lancer-extreme-dimensions-evox-look-body-kit-p-13433.html
would you do the whole kit?
pounder 05-22-2012, 01:48 AM would you do the whole kit?
nah just front bumper. I like the rear of my car. If i did the fender's i'd really get flamed lolz
navy8385 05-22-2012, 02:54 AM me likey one
Nunyas 05-22-2012, 03:07 AM I'm another that doesn't like making my car look like another car. So, my vote is for OEM. If OEM is out of the question, then option #2.
I don't mind making my car look different, I just don't like making it look like some other model car.
pounder 05-22-2012, 01:05 PM Hmmm i wonder about the front ra crash beam amd these kits. Ours is a solid piece and not split in the middle. I wonder if just painting it black and taking off the foam will suffice.
Nunyas 05-22-2012, 04:17 PM asthetically, that should be fine. If you want to make the holes in the bumper functional, you'll want to change to an EvoX crash beam, and possibly get the air guides to go with it.
