: Vishnu Tuning
dcasandman 05-23-2008, 01:21 AM Has anyone here every used Vishnu Products? The Edmunds Video is pretty impressive and their plug in system seems pretty slick. They do some pretty awsome stuff with BMW, and the BMW forums seem to be pretty high on them. What do you guys think?
DVDee 05-23-2008, 03:30 AM I was looking into that and the Perrin product but I couldn't wait anymore so I pulled the trigger on the EcuTek tune.
jacksontw60 05-23-2008, 03:44 AM I Vishnu's Tune, and is unbelievable power, it is scary fast. Shiv did a great job installing his product (PROcede). He also found a sticking BOV and fixed it, thanks Shiv. the car is work great with no warning lights, I can't believe this car is making with this tune, Work's drop-in, and CAT-back. I will have it dyno next week and post the#. but this a great product.http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1665&stc=1&d=1211514051http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1666&stc=1&d=1211514051http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1667&stc=1&d=1211514051

I just got an email for Vinshu and they said that it will be available in 4 to 6 weeks to the public. Also, they said that updates will be available over the net.

Shiv did my install, but he did set it up to be a plug in, or out. What I really like is how well the car runs, idles, and the response in any gear, 5th gear at 3k rpm and step on it and it will still take-off with no lag. so you will be amazed at the power in the lower gears, feel the power. hey I am getting 25 + on the freeway and 17+ in town with this kind of power.

The email they sent me said they would have different tunes based on what mods that you do to your car. They will be available via internet download from what I understand as you add parts. The Vinshu device doen not hold multiple tunes like Perrins, Accessport, or HKS device . The nice thing is you can atleast go to stock by a simple unplug if you are having problems. This is the onlyu reason I wont go with Eccutek, becasue of the inablility to go back to stock if needed.

so if dealership doesn't see it, they can't void the warranty, and since it "lies" to ecu, when they pull records all they'll see is normal stock numbers. Aww, the wonders of piggybacks.

Yes, the $995 is correct. not sure of the version, I am running the same setup as shiv: cat back 3" pipe to Y dual 2 1/2 pipe with Magnaflow high flow pack. Shiv is running the stock filter, I had a cone on, he suggested stock because it brings in colder air, not from engine bay, so I switch back to stock with the works filter I already had it. when I dyno I will try them both for best results. I am not trying to build a race car, just a very fast, comfortable, handling touring car with great music & sound (Ipod) Rockford, and looks.

Kooldino 05-24-2008, 04:11 PM (moved to tuning)
So is it plug and play, or does it require you to splice wires?
Can't wait to see your dyno!

I have only talked to them via email. I dont have the product yet at this time. Im still trying to decide between a couple of other options. Eccutek is really not an option for me cause there is not a place even remotely close to me in Oklahoma, and Im not emailing my ECU off. I know a couple of bemmer guys that are really high on Vishnu though. Only big problem with the Vishnu tune is it only holds one tune.

No, I dropped my car off at Shiv, he lives about 15 minutes away from me.
He kept the car while I was on a business trip to test drive it. He did say it actually takes about 30 to 45 minutes to install.
Shiv is a Class Act, his work is excellent, and he is not satisfied till it right.

Agreed, Shiv is definitely a good guy. He tuned my VIII and the tune was ROCK SOLID for the 35K miles that I had the car.
Hey, Jackson...I'm pretty close to where you're at most of the time...mind taking me for a spin to push me over the edge on the PROceed?

I've been to a few websites and I don't see where this is actually being sold for the X. I'd like to look more into this.
Kwiq Niss 08-24-2008, 06:42 PM its not being sold. and everytime for the last 6 months someone has gotten something back from their sales dept. they just say it will be a month, or no details at this time.

Well that sucks. He impressed all the magazine people then disappeared. I just shot an email to their sales dept.
It's just a matter of time before I get my EVO and trying to figure out what I want to do with it first after the break in. Kooldino has the exhaust note I'm looking for so I'll go that route for the exhaust.
Vishnu must have run into some snags during testing. I really like the fact that you can download different tunes from the internet. I'd jump in on the SpeedCircuit flash deal but being in the middle of North Central Texas, with no tuners around, I'd be screwed if something happened to my ECU. This car will be my DD and I won't have a back up for a few months.

Is supposed to have theirs ready in a couple of weeks claiming 106whp and 99wtq gains...
Two Weeks

I believe you will need a Manual boost controller and a new clutch that can handle the hp gains.
keithmaestas 08-24-2008, 10:03 PM Dude I gotta say Dino does an awesome job with mail-in ecu tunes. I sent mine from Miami during the last tropical storm (talk about intelligent eh???). Anyway, it left on monday and was back to me on thursday. The car drives so SMOOTH now. Plus no pulling wires out of harnesses etc... Might be kinda cool to get internet updates though. I have to say that I am amazed at how much better the car runs after an aftermarket tune. People aren't joking when they say completely different car.

I don't doubt that. I cannot afford to not have a car for a few days. I'm selling both my vehicles to get one and until I get a back up ride...
Also there have been issues with people after their tunes from other companies and I'm so far away. I cannot go back to factory. I and the Oklahoma Guy here are really in bad locations. Seems all the reputable tuners are on the coasts.
lwevert 08-25-2008, 03:14 AM Their are so many variables when it comes to a tune. Such as altitude, weather, etc... I'm sure a mail in tune is good, but what works in one place might not necessarily in another. Plus if the procede is going to be $995 and the access port around $700 it seems in the long run this is the cheaper and more efficient way to go. A mail in flash is about $500. Then each additional tune is what around $150-200 so after getting a few mods you'll have to get another tune and so on.. It seems cool to be able to get the procede and see gains, get a few bolt ons, download the map for free and boom another tune...
on2it 08-25-2008, 03:21 AM I personally would get an EcuTek custom tune.
nebolic 08-26-2008, 12:26 AM lol Vishnu? No thanks. I wouldn't let that guy touch my car after he tried to tune my EVO 8 that resulted in serious knock.
