So you want to get on the iBandwagon and you have an MP3 player. i.Beat is not a terrible name. A little cheeky, a little edgy, a lot derivative, but not terrible. Then you decide black is the new black, so you're going to make a black MP3 player, and give it another slightly edgy, slightly leet-speaky, very derivative name; something with an extra letter x and which is in all lowercase: the blaxx.

Dammit, I was going to accuse you of being racist.

So...features?

Trekstor has revealed that it will release a quartet of new i.Beat media players at next week's IFA technology show in Berlin: the blaxx, cody, emo, and sonix (pictured) will all be capable of playing video and FM radio regardless of size, the company says. The full-size cody will be the company's large, movie-focused player with a 3.5-inch display, support for AVI clips, and an SD card slot to extend the built-in memory or to view photos directly from a camera. Its smaller parallel, the sonix, shrinks the display to just 2.4 inches but keeps AVI and photo viewing support.

In exchange, the blaxx and emo are focused primarily on music; the blaxx occupies the high end with a touch-sensitive control pad, while the emo relies on a more traditional pad. Both use the lower-quality but more portable SMV format for video and share screens under 2 inches; the blaxx adds a line-in jack for directly recording audio from a CD player.

at least there's an i.Beat emo too, gotta make it equal opportunity eh?

TrekStor (makers of the i.Beat brand) have officially renamed the player the TrekStor Blaxx amid outrage and general confusion over the blaxx being a part of the i.Beat brand :P
