Does anyone know when the procede for evo x is coming out. What are the anticipated final specs? Is it going to be hard to remove when I go to my dealer after I get my evo x in a month or less?

I have gotten email from vishnu. It will be out 4 to 6 weeks. System takes about 30min to install. It is updatable via email as u add more mods. It is plug and play, and from what I understand easy to unplug to take to dealer after initial instillation. On the other forum though people are really down on shiv for customer service. I have no experience with them myself. There is a thread on this site with someone with it installed. He loves it browse around he has pics and everything. I cant link it cause im on vacation browsing with my blackjack lol.

I think over the next 2 months, you're going to see the ECU stuff really start to get off the ground.

I know that PERRIN already has their Unichip solution available.

With Perrin you have to do some wire splicing I know right now. If not I would have already ordered it from them. They are super nice, and appear to have top notch customer service. If they had a way to keep me from having to splice wires myself I would buy it. Right now Im going to sit an wait awhile. I do want the ability to take it off so it is stealthy.

Would anyone in the know be willing to do a single quick pros and cons post comparing both the ECUtek and Vishnu solutions as a summary? i.e. holds one tune or multiple tunes, is easy/difficult to get back to stock for dealer/warranty purposes, etc.

Eccutek is probably the superior product being that it has complete control over pretty much everything engine management wise. Only negative is once it is flashed it is flashed unless you go back to the tuner and get a reflash. I do perfer to be able to go back to stock map if needed. From what I understand the Dealers can now recognize when the ECU has been reflashed, but I dont know this for sure. I hear Mitsu Warenty Suck already so it may not matter.
Vinshu may or may not have control over everything Im not sure. I do know that it is plug and play and can be taken off to go to the dealer, so they wont know it is there. The claim similar HP gain as ECCUtec. I have heard alot of people make negative comments about Vinshu customer service, which I have no experience with. I know you will be able to get Email updates as you add mods for Vinshu, which you will have to go in for a tune with Eccutek.
They both have strong positives and negatives Im sure. Its more of which product works for you. Im personally leaning toward a Vinshu, Perrin, or AccessPort Type product since there are not places in Middle United States to do a Eccutek Tune. Perrin will have Accessport when it comes out, and it sounds like a pretty sweet product for the price. Perrins Customer Support is suppose to be awsome, and they have responded to all my emails within the sameday. If their product didnt require splicing I would already be ordering it from Perrin.

I heard 40-50 whp from ecutek vs 70-80 from vishnu. Why is VIshnu getting so much? Are they pushing the engine too hard?

That review was from the Edmund review and had an intake and prototype exhaust from what I understand. If you read the Edmunds article they state that in the article. That sounds about right though around 50hp for tune and around 20-30hp for an intake and exhaust.

Ive also heard on the forums that Vinshu uses low dyno numbers for the initial dyno results, but that is not really different from anyone else. (Cough Cough 27hp for a dropin)

You should ignore the dyno numbers and just focus on the difference between the two runs.

From what I remember when I had my Evo VIII, they had a Xflash(Ecutek) which was $900 and the Xede was $1400. And I wouls assume since they are selling the Procede for $1500 it would be the same but hey $950 would be good

SO the procede is the unit? Then the flash would be a reflash of my ECU? Does that mean I would have to drive there to do that and I couldn't take it out? I'd need the XEDE for that? 70 hp for $1500 is a steal!!

No the procede is like a piggy back. It tricks the ECU. It comes with all the stuff you need. The ECU isnt flashed with the procede.
