According to my local dealer, Mitsubishi is releasing an update to the ECU programming that deals with lag/hesitation at 5,000 RPM and up. The car runs too rich at high RPMs and this update is supposed to lean out the air/fuel mix. Everyone with an EVO should get this update done!

Update is OUT. Just released last night. This is a 2nd REFLASH for those of you still experiencing top-end sputtering...

Im going in this Saturday.

BTW, this is in Socal at southcoast mitsubishi.... Im not sure about other states, check with your local dealer! :rock:

Oh man, does anyone have the TSB info so i can show my dealer? I need this bad. Its like my car hits a wall at 5k.

Yes please...I need the TSB....I can drive the 200 mile round trip tommorow for this...but not until I get the TSB.

+1 on getting the TSB, my local dealership doesn't know crap. On the last flash I had to bring it in to show them what I was talking about.

My local dealer in NJ doesn't have it yet and doesn't know anything about it. :(

If you call and they say they know what it is, get the TSB info!!!!!

so i went to my dealer just now, and they scheduled me for the reflash. I dont know all the specifics, but from what i could quickly read on the computer screen, it was a "revision" to the april reflash.

Just thought id get the word out!

Just curious. Did you get your first reflash in Japan?

I am from Singapore and my dealer said Mitsu Japan did not inform them about any reflash or TSB whatsoever.

That link goes to a sticky on evom that is supposed to have updated TSB's but 08-00-002 is an old one and that thread hasn't been updated for close to a month.

slight hesitation... HAHAHAHA... more like HEAVY CYLINDER FUEL FLOODING.

I had one of the techs flash my car today in between jobs, it is running no where near as rich as before at high throttle settings. Before I could see it in the rear view mirror, it was very rich. I also checked a spot and this -may- have added a small increase in fuel economy, not sure yet. I'm thinking about .5 to 1.5 is possible. I know where I was getting 26.5 or so at 62 changed to 28.3. I'll find out fore sure on Sunday and can compare to a 270 mile from a week ago.

It only took a short amount of time to apply the new software.

Yes that TSB is the third one listed, the latest of course rolls in all the other updates as well. My car would get mixed up a bit when I started the car from time to time too, seems like that stopped as well with the latest update.

yap, i have made an appointment already for the updated reflash june 4th to be exact. hope this will really help to lean the car and better gas.

Question is, will this limit how much we can mod the car before we need a tune because it'll be leaned out too much with power..?

i got it, i feel very slight power gain, put response is alot faster and pulls alot more in top end, i was hitting 145 on my way home witout too much pressure.

Lol U can basically put on everything on my mod list and it'll still be pig rich.
It leaned out a bit, I think I was still in the 11:1s for AFR

The car runs pig rich from the factory, aftermarket parts will lean it out. But not a lot.

Going tommorrow for the reflash I will post if I feel any difference at all

got my flash today...

Car runs a lot smoother up top. No real notice in power.... but the temp here is in the 90s so its not the best conditions for a turbo car.... maybe tonight when it cools down i will notice a small gain.

I'm loving tis thread... to bad I can't get this flash done untill a week from this saturday cause I'm tracking my car all day this saturday. Would be nice to have the flash before taking it to the track :(
