yeah that was it. as soon as the track opens im gonna be going again. ive been talking with xtreme and i should be getting his FMIC and piping. if not im going with AMS. i also have a DP to install and maybe a more aggressive tune from Dino. i sure hope to be down there in the low 12s. as long as i dont error while driving i should be

Wow I have never seen this thread before. It's a good thing I stumbled upon it by accident. I live in Boise and go to BSU. I'm not a mechanic or anything but I know a little about cars and I have many friends who are into cars also. Me and some friends were going to get our rides together and have a photoshoot over at BSU as soon as the weather clears up, I'll let you guys know maybe we can get a meet going. I have a Z-Chip and MBC installed in my car, I haven't taken it to a dyno yet but I walked my friends s2k (closed track) and I took a friend for a ride in my car and he said its definitely faster than his supercharged MCoupe. I'm just waiting on another friend to get his Turbo M3 finished to see how I hang with that :evillaugh:. Anyhow shoot me a PM if you are in the Boise area and want to hang out or if you need help with anything on your car I'm always down to work on cars. :rock:

By the way I forgot to ask. How is everyones X holding up in the snow? I had to leave mine in the garage (stock tires FTL :() and wait till the snow/ice on the roads clears up. Be safe driving in the snow!

^ so far so good. I just went out for about a half hour yesterday. I have Goodyear F1 A/S tires on. I live on a side street off of Overland & Vista, so almost all the roads were unplowed & icy. I slammed on the brakes a couple times (when no one was around), to test out the ABS on ice. I was very happy w/how quickly it stopped w/no sliding whatsoever. No tire spinnage w/quick starts either... AWD FTW! I also took a turn from dry pavement to very slick pavement, a little faster than many other cars should, & the X slid for half a second, but was very easy to control back to a straight line.

i havent gotten a chance to drive mine yet. im still in the desert. yeah i think a photoshoot would be nice. we need to get all the Xs in the area together and do it proper!

I saw a blue Evo X in town today.... it had powdercoated/painted stock rims and they looked amazing. The owner of the car on here by any chance?

I'm in for the meet. Seems like Hollywood really wants to have one too. It should be warmer by the end of next month, so sometime late March or soon after would be good for me. I have to get my new wheels installed :-P

Interesting about the OB X, I haven't seen it yet. I have seen a GG MR on Fairview by Larry Miller & I know there's suppose to be a RR GSR somewhere & possibly another PB X, but The only 2 I've actually seen on the road is yours Irving at BSU & Joey's on the freeway a ways back.

i would go if it was more closer to like pocotello maybe. boise is quite the drive from rexburg.

Well I suggest we do several places with good scenery, I'm do semi pro photography so we can do some really cool shots while were out. One of the best backdrops in the brick building just before DT on I-84. Shots are best at sundown though, I think in may around 7pm or so was best there.
I'd like to find a cool alley way to, something urban. Maybe the one alley DT where its got all the graffiti? Maybe someone can scope it out to see if all our cars will fit staggered?
Also I know Kidney won't be too up for this but for the guys we can go to Hooters just for a bit and have the girls pose with our cars. My GF works there, so she can line us up with plenty of girls :shades:

Just spotted another RR X GSR today w/SSS. My BF & I were in his RR X on I-84. He noticed the other X right before it pulled up next to us. The guy didn't even look over, but paralleled us for about 1 sec before going WOT & weaving through traffic, then tail-gating someone several cars up. He's probably not on here, but I'd thought I'd let you guys know. My BF was going to wave... didn't even get a thumbs up :(

The earlier the better --- the tech lanes always fill up fast and the sooner you get through tech the better

The Firebird family are good people but so many cars show up its takes their small staff quite a bit of time to tech all the cars that show up

You guys should bump into friends of mine there most likely ....look for a Black EVO 8 (11's) and a 1G talon (low 9's/high 8's) that makes 660+whp too (also black) good folks among a few other import racers in the Boise/Mt Home area

They have an SCCA class locally thats the "IMS" basically run what you brung and compare times to your friends --- pax is 1.0

I will be trying to visit Boise this year if money allows...cant afford to take a week off and miss out on sales....but Ive done the 14-16hr drive dozens of times from LA to Boise so who knows...

Our local LA track is GARBAGE compared to Firebird...always dusty, no prep and the lines are ridiculous....3-4hours for ONE run...if you stay from open to close you MIGHT get 2 runs in

I was living in San Diego and there was a decent 1/8 strip but that was about it...or street legals at Qualcom Stadium on pavement with no prep...woopie

I never realized how much I would miss summers in Idaho till I got back home and got stuck with no track and no gearhead friends :tumbleweed:

Those guys are triple OGs and have basically been the backbone of the Import Class at Firebird..back in 2001 and 2002 it was a smaller group than it is now....Boise Imports are growing and quite a few of those guys flat represent when its time to hit the strip

Lots of guys doing big things in such a small town --- Hai and his crew have dnoe some wicked things --- his show is probably the only shop with its lights still on --- the rest have come and gone unfortunately

When I think of Boise it reminds me of what LA was back in 1995-1996....guys doing big things on small budgets...not too much show but LOTS of go lol....kinda the good ol' days of the import thing

Weekend BBQs, track events on Fridays/Saturdays/autoX on sunday....just a gearheads paradise...

I drove with open exhaust from the track and no one gave me a hard time except for the gate guards on base lol....but coming home around 11-midnight from the track I just told them I came from the strip and would fix it in the morning and they let me pass without too much fuss lol

If you guys wanna gamble then lets just go to WENDOVER NV! my brother lives there, (he also has a sick evo) we could meet up Saturday August 1st and gamble the night away, then next day we could go to the drag strip and drag our cars! If they stay consistent with doing it every other weekend then they should have a drag event for that weekend! I think that would be dope as shit!

Wendover is a little town in the border of utah and nevada, it has 4 major casinos and it is pretty fun to gamble there. little mesquite if you will.

That does sound like fun, but just a bit further than I would personally want to go for a 1 day trip. For me, Jackpot would be about a 5.5 hour round trip, but Wendover would be 9+ hours round trip. Needless to say, 9 hours is a large chunk of the day. Everyone feel free to do this w/o myself or Noah, if they really want to do the Wendover trip. Honestly... sorry for being a downer :(
