Hello everyone!! I am not an evo owner but I am a huge fan! =D
Now my friend has an '06 EVO MR and he is having a serious problem with the car. When we try to accelerate the car barely moves!! The RPMs turn but the car doesn't move that much. I checked all the tubing from the turbo and intercooler but everything seems nice and snug. I thought we were losing compression from there... Please help!! I'm an EVO noob!! =\ And I know there are plenty of knowledgable people on these forums!!
Thanks ahead of time!!

Get a compression and leak down test, When did it become so slow? is it possible the turbo's blown. What mods on the car if any that is.

It pretty much did it over night... Might I add that my friend has had it very low on oil for a while now.. =\ note* if I had the money I would take it off of his hands because him and his brother really don't take care of it the way an evo should be taken care of.... Anyways they also had it sitting for a month with no gas... Idk if that would affect any... How can you check if the turbo is blown??

Low Oil for a while = Higher oil temps and oil starvation to the turbo.
His clutch could also be fucked?
Can you describe it better?
is the idle jumping around?

Good point! I had been telling him to check the oil and add some but he ignored me since I don't own a forced induction car.. Well I ask him about the clutch and he told be that they had replaced it a couple months back with a stage 2.. Can it get fucked up that quick??

If the RPM goes up and the car doesn't accelerate then you are either spinning all four tires, the crank is broken or the clutch is toast.
I'd go all in on the clutch being toast.

Well he bought the car used about 2 years ago.. From what I know the clutch was the only thing he changed but like everyone here knows it's really hard to find a virgin evo... unless it's new...

Well the car starts fine and the gears feel fine there is no grinding or anything like that. The RPMs are stable at idle. It feels like you're trying to start the car on fifth gear and it takes for ever to accelerate... The car wont stale either it feels like it's lagging from the get go..

Thanks guys for all your help!!! If I had the money I would take it off of his hands and take care of it the way it should be but as a college students I don't have that kind of money...

tell your friend to put oil in it after he changes the clutch...
