Well guys, I'm getting a catback exhaust made for my car and was quoted 160 if I provide the muffler. I'm looking at getting a single Borla 40085 with 3" inlet and 3"outlet. I'm going single as to help in weight reduction.

I've been looking at the AMS single exhaust, and noticed about a 30* bend about 2/3 down the third shaft of the driveshaft and another 10* bend by the rear sway bar-so I'm thinking the muffler will go under the rear diff. Issue with this muffler is that it doesn't have a tip so I'll need to purchase one. I've always been a bigger fan of not being able to see a muffler on a car, just the tip when it's coming out the rear. Does anyone know of any 3" inlet to 3.5"-4" chrome tips that are also chrome inside? I did a whole lotta lookin on Ebay and found a few from Flowmaster, but they didn't have any 3" inlets.

I'm just looking for oppinions. I figure if this system is too loud for my liking, I'll add another muffler to it.

Looks good. I am thinking of getting a custom exhaust made as well, except it will be quad tip...no weight saving whatsoever lol

Speaking of Borla, my car is with them right now getting their first EVO X exhaust made! :)

Jackygor, do tell where you think you may be getting your tips from. I still can't find anything I like and I'm scared to buy from autozone/napa...

Just make sure they are making it mandrel bent instead of crush bent. I'll have my car back probably late next week I just found out, I'll post up a picture and possibly a sound clip!

I forgot to ask about that when I talked with them! Wow, I'm a dolt. I found another muffler I'm considering. I just don't know how the SLP Loud Mouth muffler would sound on a Turbo 4 though... I don't really want too :ghey: sounding of an exhaust.

There are a lot of single exhaust with twin tips, but I don't know which ones are good...

Clearance might be an issue with the duals right after the muffler, but those tips sure are nice! And I've always been a fan of magnaflow after hearing their system for the GTO: it gave it a semi-exotic sound. The only problem I'm seeing is where to put a muffler under our cars, but I'm no exhaust guy so this might just be an issue in my head instead of in reality. Good luck with your choice and :rock:.
