Hello

Trying to do some research before the Evo's arrive in Australia

Can anyone tell me what the standard gap is between the inside of the fender and the outer face of the wheel/tyre?

Both front and back measurements would be great

Thanks in advance

I can tell you with the stock 18x8.5 wheels a 255 tire wont fit ;)

So 10mm wider tyre wont fit???

I take it it scrubs on the fender??

How are all these other guys getting 255 and 265 tyres with 9.5 " rims etc?

You can get them to fit, you just need to do some minor mods to the splash guards. Nothing major, you can just undo a couple of the plastic bolts on the underbody and zip tie the splash guards quite a ways forward and out of your way.

OK I cant see how some are getting 19 x 9.5 " rims with 20 or so offsets with 255 and 265 tyres on their evos and saying they fit with no mods

What am I missing here?

Thanks

Hi ausevo, welcome to the site.
If you are on stock suspension, using 9.5" rims with 255 tires and offset in the 20's will fit without rubbing and should require no mods. Even 265's should be okay with a low offset, but due to manufacturer variability on sizing standards who knows!

Btw, the edge of the front fender gap's distance to the outer face of the stock rims is ~30mm; with the rear being ~27mm.
My own preference for offsets to run on stock suspension:

For 9.0, +20 to +29 with 255/40R18
For 9.5, +22 to +30 with 255/40R18

Glad to help, but if you get 9.5 +20 with 255's and the rear fender does need rolling don't look at me :D
