Just did 2 track days at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course with Chin Motorsports. Wow, what a track! By far the most challenging and technical track I have ever driven on - so many blind apexes, off-camber turns, and tricky combinations. Way more challenging than even VIR - if anyone is looking for a fun track for a great handling car, this is the one.

This was my first track day with new R-comps (Michelin Pilot Sport Cups, which were amazing), and new brake rotors (Girodisc 2 piece slotted). Brakes stayed strong through 2 punishing days of 90+ degree temperatures.

Highlight of my trip was chasing down and passing a Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black - he was WAY faster than me on the straights, but I caught him on the turns every time. He really did not want to let me past :godance:

Anyway, here's a video:

Great camera placement. Funny though, I have lived in OHIO all my life and never even driven there.

Nice video/driving. What camera and where did you mount it? Interesting how the midwest tracks are fast and mostly flat, while the west coast tracks a have more elevation changes...

Camera (GoPro HD) is mounted on the front bumper, on the right just in front of where the fog lights used to be. There's actually quite a lot of elevation change at Mid-Ohio, particularly after the long back straight. You go up and over that left hander, and the front gets very loose - one of the few turns that it's better to early apex so the front can get settled before the road drops away.

I had pretty good tires before (Advan Neova AD08) but the R-comps are on another level entirely (plus they are 265s, so wider too). So much grip - the Evo loves fast transitions anyway, but with the Sport Cups you just feel like you will never run out of grip. I once took turn 1 (fast left hander after the pit straight) way too fast, but the car just held it - I was sure I was going off.
