When lookin at upgrading my stock evo X what is the first thing that a ROOKIE, like myself, should look at doing first to his ride?

Depends on who you are. DO you want performance or looks first off? Some people get new wheels and perhaps better tires although that is an unnecessary first step on the evo in my opinion. I would go with drop in filter or new intake. Then it is good to get exhaust, cat or turbo back depending on what you want. Perhaps a boost controller and blow off valve will benefit you depending on what you want. After that I'd go with a new intercooler system and a tune. ECUTEK Accessport and XEDE are good systems.

Theres quite a few threads around on modification options.

Point to note: Modifying your car "may" void your warrentee.
Work out what you want out of your car, research which mods you need and want for your purpose.

Performance wise: Most people are starting off simple with an air filter or intake upgrade, then it all gets expensive. :)

Take a look at the threads where evoxforum members have quotes 1/4 mile times or HP dyno readings.. most of these members have a mods list in their signature which will give you a place to start.

Lookswise: check out the vanity section of the website.. theres heaps of options out there to customise your look..

BTW.. welcome to the forums and congrats on your purchase, if this is your first highpowered turbo vehicle, spend some time getting to know it before you throw more horses at it. :)

ok. Are you going to install yourself though? WHat do you mean by easiest, Cheapest, least work? Cheapest is drop in filter and you get 10 hp gain. Easiest might be either air intake or ECU upgrade. For 500-100 dollars you can gain 50+ hp with a reflash of the ECU. It is fairly easy to do but for many you need a tuner and or some wire cutting skills.
