Unit Is a pioneer pioneer avh p4000dvd = 499 retail - 375 on ebay =
Metra face plate = 45
metra wiring harness = 15
iPod connector = 30

Just like the AVIC minus the navi,

Extra $$$ for the backup cam, bluetooth

ive been thinkin about getting that exact same setup, but ive been a bit reluctant to go to a touchscreen, but it does look pretty slick installed. I really like the idea of having a volume knob, exposed cd slot, dvd mp3s and the ability to attach a usb hdd.

I wonder if there is an adapter to use with the steering wheel audio controls. If so I might get the MR controls and install them on my gsr.
It just seems so pointless and wasteful to have the awd controls on the wheel.

Can you configure something like this for Nav and direct iPod use? Although the stock head unit is said to be so good, I'd consider looking into this for the future MR. And like gazebostealer asked, is it possible to get steering wheel control support for this thing?

Thanks!

THat Metra Facing does not look like it matches up clean in the third pic. I've read where several people went ahead and sprang for the JDM Double Din kit so the plastic lined up.

did you originally have the nav system in there, or did you get a head unit adapter as well? great setup by the way

Yeah it's not the cleanest install but for 35 bucks you get what you pay for...

Its the metra face plate. it's double din but you can alter it for the touchscreen headunits.
