i like it, but if your going to go with the stealthy or all black route, get black or dark rims, tint, cf or things of that nature. black intercooler pipes, etc. Idk if i could do that on my car cuz my rims r silver but overall nice

It looks great! But I dont think you now need to do black everything if you don't want to. Except for maybe that one thin silver pipe behind the mesh.

Its the stock intercooler, I got bored and wanted a black intercooler so i spray painted it, only drawback is ever damn bug i hit is noticable. Im going with the black theme def. Got the matte black intake in and UICP on order, then the rims are coming soon.

im a fan of blacked out FMIC's on cars that dont come turboed cause then they have that "sleeper" goin for them but on cars that come turboed im not cause ppl like us that are into cars know a evo is turboed/has a FMIC..... thats just me though :D

It's F'in pointless, if you ever take the bumper off, it's a looped pipe that they so could,ve shortened, but i guess they wanted it to be exposed to the incoming air...

Mitsubishi engineering at its best...

Isn't that little pipe for oil cooling purposes? I thought I read that somewhere...

+1 on pics from farther away.

The rock chips on that will drive you nuts. It did for me on the last car I had with a black FMIC.

i thought if you sprayed the intercooler, it took away cooling privileges? because of heat transfer or something. idk i thought i read it somewhere

lol, wow... might as well install a cardboard box infront of the fmic.
you pretty much cut its efficiency in half!

the spray buildup covers all the fins = less air traveling through.
black = more likely to heatsoak

does look sick though, hahaha!~ :)

not so sure about that.... maybe a little bit of efficiency is lost, but no more then 1 or 2 HP... i mean, i painted mine black, made 300 whp and ran a 12.24 @ 111.. so its still working for me. :shades:

this is the same thing I was thinking. anyone know how much airflow is lost from doing something like this? I mean, there were people worried about mounting their license plate and having it cover a real small portion of the intercooler. Maybe someone should drive with an actual piece of carboard in front of the intercooler, or cover half the thing and see if theres a real difference.

I have noticed no power loss at all, Like mentioned above at most 1-2 HP. Not a big differance...
