Hey everyone, I have decided to start this thread to help our growing group of members in the North East Ohio area stay in touch and help manage and notify each other of shows meets etc.. also if your in the area and you want to get to know some fellow X owners, don't be shy and chime in!

This Thursday how does a meet sound, personally I would like to get away from the local car club meet we have gone to lately and meet in a location and time that works out for everyone.. Jones 525 and I recommend the Starbucks and Applebees in Garfield Heights, and talking to DarkRider he had the idea of Panini's in Solon.. which I am also down with.

I think the more people we have the harder it will be to please everybody. So we could pick a day and stick with it. If you can make it great, if not, we'll look forward to seeing you next time. Thurs / Fri would probably be best for most of us....

Here is my humble opinion on each proposed location...

Hoggy's / QSAL - Not so much.
Panini's Solon - Great place, parking is really bad. Small lot, lots of body panel denting madness.
Starbucks / Applebees Garbage Hts. - Tucked out of the way. Amazing parking, amazing view, Chipotle...
QSL / N. Canton - Kinda far, but Legendary does hump it up to Valley View. I proposed Fairlawn which is a fairly equal drive for all of us. Tres' Portrellos Senoir's!

My vote would be to rotate the thing around to different locations. Everyone can have a pick of the destination. That way we all vary drive times, food, etc etc.

I will suggest a Saturday night at my local cruise in Brunswick when it is my turn. We can all roll in together, they won't know what hit them. 90% muscle cars. Some newer stuff. An occasional Subie or Honda. Fat Bobs Pizza is there, or we can roll down to Paninis after an hour or two.

I am a muscle car guy and have a few.

The mentality on the ricer crowd is cheap crap that looks like hell and they think they are fast based on the loudness of the fart can.

It has nothing to do with speed or power since most muscle car guys never get on it at all since they are too old now to have the reflexes to deal with getting squirrely.

Hey Chad, the reason is that we went to a dyno day and a stock evo threw down 240hp and for some reason my car was 190 hp granted everyone's numbers were off that day, and virtual dyno shows me about the numbers that we pulled on your dyno before but they are very low compared to people on Here with similar mods. What would you say the reason for that is?

I man, sorry to hear that. Almost all dealerships are the same so i kinda figured this would happen. Has it start to make any noise when turning at slow speeds? Are you having the dealership fixing it still?

No Powertrain Warranty on an MR... Thats terrible... So how did it happen? The dealer called the rep for approval on the boot, he showed up and voided?

They asked about mods. Dealership said it was lowered. They said to say good bye to warranty.

yup they seem to be ruthless, the powertrain warranty isn't voided officially, but if I had any issues im sure they wouldnt get fixed. f*ck mitsubishi, hell i have 18000 miles on my car and a cv joint boot rips, of course its because i lowered my car, I wonder how they came to that conclusion.. I hate the fact that your treated like a criminal if you decide to make the car your own, and some cheap ass part mitsu put on goes bad prematurely and they blame it all on me.. :wtfsign:

I think the X is an impressive package as-is. Yes, it could use improvements here and there, but for now just call me Stocky McStockerson. I gots no time for dealer BS... My 15K is coming up, anxious to see how that goes.

Again, no warranty on an MR. No warranty for the next 45k miles on a tranny that has no replacement parts. I would persue an aftermarket warranty STAT!

You cant get parts. If a $15 trans temp sensor fails, the protocol is to replace the whole trans for 10k. You cannot buy parts for the SST from Mitsu, or anyone else. Yes used parts are to be had, but at questionable quality. This in my opinion is the Achilles heel of the X MR.

I did not know that. So you can't get anything from the supplier either. Seems stupid to me.

A call to my Mitsubushi delaer is in order... I would feel much better if the MR trans was a serviceable unit...

Now what your dealer will tell you and what can really be done are two separate things. I would email ssp as well since they are the ones that supposedly pioneered this. We both know that mitsu will not recognize the pioneering effort of the aftermarket world. This is evident with Jordan loosing his warranty for upgrading his suspension.

In my opinion mitsu corporate should do what southcoast mitsu in Cali did and just offer an approved aftermarket parts and allow dealerships to install and tune. I
ImAgine the additional revenue they would receive! The vendors would be able to supply a larger number of parts, thus making them more money. Lastly, our warranties wouldn't be garbage since their tech are installing and tuning.

CV Joint boot is fixed 260 bucks later, only problem is now my alignment is off! Been holding my steering wheel to the left to go straight for two days now, getting realigned from NTB in Mayfield since I bought a 3 year plan from them.. if anyone wants to know my camber specs they are -2.0 fronts -1.0 rears with 0 toe around

I stock 24" material, so doing the entire hood would require a seam. It's not necessary.

I can get 48" material to cover hoods, but we usually order pieces in on an as needed basis. A roll of 48" venture shield is BIG $$$$$$$

superfly was ok. the crowd was a mix of F4's guys, rice, and a dash of hillbilly. It was ok to watch them tear around on their small auto-x course, but got boring real quick. If there was a restaraunt at the local it woulda been better. IMO: forced4's is a better car event than superfly.

Weekends are a tough plan unless it's posted weeks in advance.

I do something every Saturday, by myself, so yeah, weekends may not work out for all you single guys or married guys with no kids. With kids, those days work best.

I'm definitely down for the DSM shoot out. I've gone since the late 90's! Weather depending, I'll most likely go on the 21st though. The drag racing is most fun to watch....or participate in if u want to break your car.

I was going to wait and go to the Rolex series in September. Used to go to the Rolex 24 every year when at school, really love that class. I saw Indy in Tampa a couple years back though and its certainly worth seeing too

Yeah, there should be plenty of space. Norwalk can handle much larger crowds than a DSM meet.

As for a meet, I know it’s a bit of a drive for you NE Ohio guys but there is a Dyno day at Slowmotion Motorsports on September 25. http://www.slowmotionmotorsports.com/

Their shop is not far off I-71 and is about 25 miles north of Downtown Columbus which would cut down the drive time.

I heard the one in July was actually pretty good, decent amount of very respectable. I am hoping for the same on September 25.

I will also be throwing my car on their DynaPack to get some nice high numbers from my Clipse3GT tune!

Well, did you blow it up or what? Figured you would have given an update.

Finally bit the bullet and went away from my pro tune and went with a road tune from Clipse and wouldnt look back. So far I am very happy with the tune, Clipse told me that virtual dyno doesn't work the greatest with mr's but here are the numbers anyway, 309 hp 359 tq, but he said that the hp number really should be anywhere from 330 to 340 I believe. I'll hopefully get on a dyno sometime soon to know my exact numbers

My vote would be to have a meet in Brunswick at Panini's for eats on Saturday about 5ish, then cruise over to the show.

I might be able to do saturday, friday/ thurs would most likely be better though

No show on those dates. Weekdays are tough for me plus it is getting dark much earlier now. It does not matter to me. I can't make the east side on a weeknight. The Lube is bad enough.
