I saw the threads on making the Evo X nav system play DVD's while driving and they are a convoluted mess. Can someone please run through this modification in simple and exact terms?

Where to get patch?

How to burn it to CD?

How to install on Nav system?

Thanks!

Here is the actual hack.

http://www.deltainfo.ro/manuals/mitsu/outlander/Outlander_2005_workshop/MMCS-E-DVD.rar

Right click and "Save as ...". Unrar the files and burn the ISO on CD. Insert the new CD in MMCS, wait for the update to finish, cancel the other, insert a DVD and enjoy the movie.
To unrar the files, you need Winrar...unless you use linux or mac.

http://www.win-rar.com/downloadnow.html

If you have any type of burning software, clicking on the .iso file you create with winrar should activate that software to initiate the burn process. Even the cheapest of cheap burning programs should know what to do with an .iso image.

I doubt it works. It won't work on mine. I have the 00.34.97 and the hack is for .94

To find out....do this

* Hold SET+NAVI until you get the maintenance screen
* Touch Version Indication

They are working on a new hack for the .97. You can take your HDD out and hack it and unlock that if you want. I'm not even going to link you to that. You can do a search and do that at your own risk. I'd wait for the new software hack.
