I know this has been discussed before, however i didnt find the discussion to please or help me to figure it out, plus im trying to learn something new at the same time. So i experience white smoke coming out the tail when going WOT, through the lower RPMs only. Driving regular no smoke. Smoke comes out while car is warming up looks similiar as its chilly outside.

I have recently changed the coolant. No more smoke during warm-up, so i think I check every time i do a cold start-up.

Amount of smoke during WOT isnt alot but it is noticable.

I think my next step is to check spark plugs, injectors, do a compression test, and?????

Could I just be running super lean since it is cooling down alot, i got tuned during the humid summer 100 degrees 39% humidity could that play into the equation at all? I will be doing some logging as well aside from AFR Boost any specifics I should log?

yay! now i have an excuse to give my wife to let me get a bigger turbo or trade for a GSR lmao.


But, question in response to that other than pulling the turbo off to examine it how could one i have a good idea that may be a cause? I still have power, still hitting my right boost levels, the taper is what it should be...oh how i love this kind of stuff

Is it defo white? not blue-ish in colour?

get some head gasket sealant too and pour it in your header tank just incase.

Also, check if you have oil upper/lower pipes/intake also. if you have time to play take off your stock dp and see if you have oil in there.

Blue is pretty easy to see, even small amounts, not to mention you can usually smell it.

I havent seen any white smoke when you step on the gas.

no, that could be oil being sucked out of the head through the turbo then into those pipes and the I/C. thats why i got a catch can there and i cleaned out those pipes and my I/C with kerosene to get the oil out
