I got a quote on a set of 4 spacers to use EVO VIII and IX wheels on the EVO X of $179.00 and free shipping... hell of a lot better than spending $1,600 on new wheels and snow tires.

Now my question is, can tire inflation sensors be used in the stock EVO VIII rims that I already have, or will I just have to put up with the TPMS light on the dash in the winter?

Shit!

I called to order my spacers based on the on line quote I recieved... when I called up the guy was like "so, how thick a spacer do you need"... The f'ing quote was based only on the bolt pattern used, and the guy had no idea how thick of a spacer was needed... like I f'ing know! Get a quote from an "expert" and find out he don't know jack other than the bolt pattern...

sigh

You should visit an offset calculator page like this one (http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp) and figure out exactly the width you prefer based on the new wheel's offset.

I will just throw an EVO VIII wheel in the trunk and head to a local tire shop to see what size spacers are both safe (enough lug nut engagement) and make the car look OK (not sticking way out, etc).

I figure the rear will clear without issues, and I can test fit that at home to see if it looks OK without a spacer.
