UP FOR SALE:
For sale is a limited production 1982 Honda ATC 250R three-wheeled all-terrain cycle. The ATC is in excellent condition given its age with some minor work needed to get it in optimal working order. The ATC runs fine and has new spark plug, new rear bearings, and new break pads for all 3 wheels (needs installation). Also included in this sale is a rear break caliper to replace the one on the vehicle which needs to be rebuilt/replaced, as well as an extra front axle bar which is extra. The plastic is in decent condition (small crack on back side) and the seat has been recently reupholstered with a fresh black leather cover and the fuel tank has new decals upgraded from 1986 model. Lastly, also included in the package is a twist throttle kit ($100 value), which can be installed if you prefer this over the thumb throttle. This is a rare piece of history which needs very little work and would be a nice weekend toy!

With Honda's great success in other areas of the ATV market, the manufacturer turned their eyes towards the performance market and decided it was time to delve into the racing community. Using a fully suspended chassis, and borrowing heavily from their successful 1980 Cr250r dirt bike power plant, the first high performance 2 stroke sport three wheeler, the mighty Honda ATC250R was born. VEHICLE DETAILS:
The ATC 250R is a high-performance three-wheeled all terrain cycle produced by Honda from 1981-1986. The 1981-1984 models used an air-cooled, 248cc single cylinder 2-stroke engine fed through a 27 mm for the '81-'82 models and are powered by a close-ratio 5-speed transmission with a manual clutch. All model years were fully suspended, using air-assisted front forks and a single, remote reservoir gas-charged rear shock. '81-'82 models offered 6.7 inches of front suspension travel and all model years also used a gear-driven counter-balancer to reduce engine vibration. For 1982, Honda continued the ATC250R's evolution with some minor but very well received updates, the most notable being rear hydraulic disk brakes. Dual disc brakes were used on all model years, with the exception of the '81, which used a front disc and a rear drum. The ATC is blazing quick and has a top speed of about 70-75mph.
