Hey guys, so I'm putting an EBC in my EVO X and I was wondering who has done this already and what PSI the stock turbo can handle. From the research I have been doing people are saying that it's stock 17-23 psi. That's quite the range so I'm wondering if anyone knows what it is for sure and what is safe to run after that. Thanks.

That sounds about right. The engine is able to handle a lot of boost, so handling that isn't really the problem there, it's more the ECU cutout on the boost which I believe is set at 25psi. You can mitigate the large range with your EBC and also with the wastegate mod.

My turbo stock would spike to 23 and taper to 16 or so. I run 25 now and taper to 19ish

Yea im at 21 psi and it tapers down to about 16, if i get a boost controller would it be steady 21 or higher if i increase boost? any recomendations on boost controllers to?!

When i was stock my evo on 93 oct was hitting 22 and tappering down to 17.
With the MBC on 93 oct, (staying safe and efficent) i pumped the boost up to 24 and now it tappers down to 21 and stays steady thru redline. I set my little brother the same way and he tappers down to 20 and stays steady to redline.

No, it will help but still won't. Small turbos like these can't hold boost at high RPMs.

:wtfsign: Not really. Any turbo will hold boost within the limits of its efficiency range as long as the wastegate spring on an wastegate actuator or spring in external wastegate is strong enough.
