A friend at work has been running his mouth. He has a 540i (with 4.4L V-8) that has a lot of mods. It nearly sounds as close to NASCAR as you can get with a muffler. He wanted to do a rolling start since he doesn't have LSD, so we decided on 20, but it was raining, so he wanted to do 45. So we did 45... I still had 3/4 length on him when we finished. He now swears that I'm running a boost conroller, have had untold many tunes, exhaust, and others. As you can tell from my mod list, I have an intake, thats it, an intake.
Just to be very clear here, I was not street racing, this was a closed course grudge match.

well the gto i raced had a traction problem but even still, a win is a win and i dont care how you look at it. i agree that some people arent as good of drivers as others, and im by no means a great driver but i guess maybe that had something to do with it.

This is thread is skirting the street racing line. Could you at least be vague enough so it can't be construed as street-racing?

we were at the firebird in Boise. Its a track so im all good

I dont know about the cobra, but the gto can be beat. I have a friend with one and he absolutely cant pull me, and I know he is a better driver than me. Plus watching pass time on tv show alot of the comaros, gtos, and cobra running well into 14s sometimes. Now the only person I know with a cobra has a 650hp cobra, so I wouldnt even try.

My brother owns a 2005 GTO (LS2, 6speed, Holden Monaro body conversion) and off a roll it is dead even between us!

That or the Terminators performance is just a tad over-rated. 12.9 is a sick time and probably was hit by a good driver in an excellent condition. Here at GLD on a summer day I have seen a few hit 13.5 and some have hit that with better pulleys. On street tires a guy in a blue one could barely hook off the line.

My buddy owns a terminator and his first time at the track 2yrs ago he ran 13 flat, "Stock"
I went with him this past summer, he now has a smaller blower pully 2.8 i think, CAI, Exhaust and was running 12.4's all day. nb for a couple lbs of boost, and on street radials!
but then again, I raced a guy in an 04 cobra and he ran 13.5 with full exhaust/intake.
its all about the driver!
