: Zaino
Kooldino 05-17-2007, 08:01 PM Anyone ever use this stuff? I've been using it exclusively on my mazda for years with good results. It's not cheap, but it lasts longer than most waxes, which is nice.

witchdoktor 05-17-2007, 08:09 PM after hearing you go on about it I'm gonna try it. it's about time for the summer clay and wax job
Kooldino 05-17-2007, 08:10 PM Clay bar ftw. Post some before and after pics.
Realize that a good detailing job will eat up an entire weekend.
witchdoktor 05-17-2007, 08:18 PM wash, clay, wax. no?
better by hand or buffer, tips, advice.
Jaysanooch 05-18-2007, 08:46 PM In general if you wanna do a complete...
1.wash with dawn...(removes all old crap and previous waxes)
2.clay bar by rubbing the clay and spraying soapy water in a spray bottle...turn the clay bar often. 1 1/2 clay's should do the job.
3.re-wash with "easy on wax" type soap...then your ready to begin.
4. Zaino's 37 step system Z1, Z3, Z6, Z3. Z1.lol..."don't quote me" can't remember the order....9 days later...you should be done.
**get yourself like minimum 10-12 microfiber buffing towels...using old t-shirts/cheese cloth and the build up of wax that create tiny scratches...I learned the hard way.
Before Zaino I had already done like 8 or 9 coats of different products, like mothers, meguires...so I really didn't see a difference. My favorite is Meguires though....zaino is quite the process..mixing the solution, shaking it well, waiting 10 minutes for the stuff to kick in...COME ON!!
Kooldino 05-18-2007, 09:12 PM LOL, snooch summarized it well. A full detail is a lot of work. Honestly, the main reason I use zaino is because it lasts long.
kathryn 05-22-2007, 04:07 PM hmm... 'washing the car' that's an idea i hadn't thought about
Kooldino 05-22-2007, 09:49 PM You should wash your car every time you pee.
kathryn 05-23-2007, 11:46 AM JUST LIKE with my hands... I'll wash my car if i pee on it/them.
Kooldino 05-23-2007, 09:38 PM :(
Prissy_Potty_Pants 05-31-2007, 12:28 PM Just drove up to howell NJ on 5/29/07 to get some zaino for the new ride...
I wanted to try out the new CSZ formula (no waxing, no buffing,no removal & it doesnt cake around tight spaces).
1. performed a full wash with dawn.
2. applied the csz with a resonable application (tough to judge how much the first time) I guess i sprayed around 30 times.
3. went to sleep and applied it again around 530am
4. around 745a zaino's new Z-8 grand finale.
personally i cant see a difference, perhaps im blind, the car was very clean from the dealer, or the color just doesnt need the xtra detailing glitz.... or the stuff just doesnt work.
additionally i applied it to 1/2 half of my front wheel... we'll see how it works with brake dust !
ppp
kathryn 05-31-2007, 12:52 PM 1st. Welcome
2nd. how new is your car and what kind of car do you have?
Katya4me 05-31-2007, 02:11 PM JUST LIKE with my hands... I'll wash my car if i pee on it/them.
I'm in agreement w/ you. :) I do need to do something to get the adhesive off the Miata though from last year's SCCA stickers.
kathryn 05-31-2007, 02:24 PM ^ get a wine label remover from office depot or online.. it's make to remove labels without damaging anything..
Prissy_Potty_Pants 05-31-2007, 03:26 PM 1st. Welcome
2nd. how new is your car and what kind of car do you have?

The car did look clean, but hopefully the wax will help it stay that way.
You should add your car to vBGarage.

So you don't wash your hands after you go to the bathroom?
dragonslayer27 08-24-2007, 08:38 AM i read on another forum that zaino is a good product but i was satisfied with my current wax (meguiars gold class) so i didn't look into it.
Rosshole 08-24-2007, 02:02 PM I just use Mothers Clay Bar, then Turtle Wax hard shell... good enough for me.
k-lea 08-24-2007, 02:52 PM Someone say Clay?
I've never used it but I've heard good things. The Miata never earned the treatment but I'm sure the GTO will..
Rosshole 08-24-2007, 03:01 PM Clay Bar is a pain, but the results are very worth it!
k-lea 08-24-2007, 03:04 PM I like doing the Clay Bar. Not sure why, but I like to get down and dirty using those arm muscles rubbing a piece of clay into my shitty Mazda paint..
Kansei 08-24-2007, 03:40 PM I like doing the Clay Bar. Not sure why, but I like to get down and dirty using those arm muscles rubbing a piece of clay into my shitty Mazda paint..
If you are using your muscles, you're pressing way too hard :)
k-lea 08-24-2007, 03:42 PM When your arm moves up and down, what are you using? Muscles? I'm typing, what am I using? Muscles..
Kansei 08-24-2007, 04:00 PM When your arm moves up and down, what are you using? Muscles? I'm typing, what am I using? Muscles..
you sure you aren't using fat sacks to type? wonder if that's even possible..
I've used Zaino for the past year. I bought Z5 and Z2. The Z5 removes swirls and scratchs and lays down a good coat of wax (great by itself really). The Z2 is the show car polish. I've been amazed at how easy on and off they are! I just used a clay bar for the first time a couple of months ago and it made the car smooth as silk!
Prissy_Potty_Pants 08-24-2007, 06:56 PM Zaino is a great product Z-2 Z3 (prob best out there) and i forget the other one... but the CSZ is crap.
ppp
dragonslayer27 08-24-2007, 09:32 PM for sure use clay bar. after using clay bay for the first time last month i will never wax my car without clay-barring it first.
Kooldino 08-28-2007, 02:04 PM If you are using your muscles, you're pressing way too hard :)
Nah dude, clay bar can be tiring.
Kooldino 08-28-2007, 02:04 PM I like doing the Clay Bar.
I'm certain that you'd prefer the Dino bar.
Kansei 08-28-2007, 02:21 PM Nah dude, clay bar can be tiring.
you're sliding a clay bar on a very well-lubricated surface. I clay bar my car 4-5x a year.. it doesn't have to be tiring
Rosshole 08-28-2007, 02:42 PM mine gets the clay bar once or twice a year... I am so damn busy that I hardly find time to wash her.
Kooldino 08-30-2007, 09:21 PM you're sliding a clay bar on a very well-lubricated surface. I clay bar my car 4-5x a year.. it doesn't have to be tiring
With all of the crap coming out of my exhaust...it damn sure is. Mind you, I have single stage paint.
Don't believe me? I cordially invite you to help me detail my car sometime soon.
Kansei 08-30-2007, 10:50 PM screw your single stage paint, I'm not touchin that lol
Kooldino 08-31-2007, 02:14 PM That's what I thought, cracka.
Liquid_Ag 08-31-2007, 03:22 PM they still make cars with single stage paint? i use zaino quick detailer, forgot the number, makes it shine. but for regular wax and such, meguiars gold class or nxt paste
Kansei 08-31-2007, 04:35 PM Mazda vivid yellow sure is :P

silvreclipse 10-19-2007, 03:10 AM there's a smudge on the bumper.oh wait its my screen.LOL
very nice and clean.
_Chris_ 03-07-2008, 03:52 AM Gonna use Zaino on the X soon. Z5 & Z2
ken830 03-11-2008, 09:52 PM Add me to the list of happy Zaino users! I've used Zaino exclusively for the past five years! Here's my SRT with just one layer of Z2 with a light wipe-down with Z6... I usually do 2-3 layers of Z2 with Z6 in between. As long as I re-apply Z2 after every wash, I never have to clay-bar... only once, when the car was first purchased.

ak47m203 03-15-2008, 10:23 PM i just ordered it. do we really need the clear zeal? or this is enough?

ken830 03-15-2008, 10:37 PM You need ZFX... and if your car is new, and has no swirls, you won't need Z5
_Chris_ 03-15-2008, 11:01 PM Off topic....
