: Any thoughts on BOV Issue???
EvoXRacer 07-22-2008, 02:38 AM Just installed my Agency Power BOV. Super easy install.
Issue = Car does not sound or feel right.
Pressure releases in short snappy spurts, instead of the smooth release I have seen on youTube. I adjusted the valve both ways and still released is short spurts. :wtfsign:
So I thought maybe there was some chance I hooked it up wrong, so I looked up instuctions and it was right. I cannot figure out what the issue is. Seems silly IDK.
Also the BOV Showed ZERO performance increase that I could tell. Did not pull any harder or longer at all.
Any thoughts???
Papi4baby 07-22-2008, 02:56 AM First the BOV will not give you any performance, the only benefict if there is any is that it will hold more boost depending on the quality of it. I take it the stock valve hold boost pretty well. So all you would really get is the pretty sound. And since you have adjusted it both ways and is not changing maybe the diaphram is blown. Good luck.
TRUSTcompany9000 07-22-2008, 03:58 AM You either have the BOV on 50/50 blowoff/recirc or on 100% recirc. In order to get the blow off sound you have to completely remove the second hose from the BOV that runs to the intake.
TRUSTcompany9000 07-22-2008, 11:55 AM Yep, that's how it turns into a 100 percent blow off valve.
well.... then why dosent the HKS SSQBOV flutter
Mr. Win 07-23-2008, 12:51 AM The HKS is designed to make that cute little sound.

what bov do u have?
RRdan 07-24-2008, 06:01 AM what bov do u have?
GFB Stealth FX
08asX 07-27-2008, 07:37 PM if you dont have a tune or a MBC then a BOV will not throw a code if 50/50. After I got my tune my GFB ran a code. This is peaking at 25psi. Cleared it, put the stock BOV back never threw a code since.
TTP Engineering 07-28-2008, 05:24 AM Much of the time people install the BOV backwards because they think it goes one way or the other. We have seen this many times.
REV-olution X :'/': 07-29-2008, 05:51 PM synapse Bov,good Valve No Probs...
nbpal3000 07-29-2008, 09:34 PM isnt synapse bov fully recirculated?
REV-olution X :'/': 07-30-2008, 03:50 PM yes it is ive had it on 4 about 4months now and have had no probs.
its a great bov... if u look @ some pic 4m that first evox
2 hit the 10s
it has the same one 2.
blueoctaneevoX 07-31-2008, 06:17 AM I have the agency power bov and I'm venting 100 percent by taking the bov off the return pipe. I went to autozone and picked up a cheap little filter to put in the return pipe. U can actually feel the horsepower difference from this little mod. It seems to lean out the mixture a bit.

Is your car tuned? Did you trigger a code after it was tuned?
SiliconTek 06-26-2009, 02:24 AM On 50/50 the Agency Power BOV works fine and produces the blow off sound that will carry over 1/8th of a mile away. My AP-BOV at around 3500RPM is a nice 'psssssssshhhhhttt'. It is a little quick at high RPM's but I do not have fluctuation problems whatsoever. I would suspect a boost leak or a defective valve. There are many on this forum running AP-BOV in 50/50 with no problems.
And please offer the guy help and don't tell him how useless you think an aftermarket BOV is...no needless :deadhorse: required, mhhkay thanks.
braddddddd991 09-27-2009, 03:16 PM pic of a 50/50 agency bov?! please

Now that right there is not a good idea. That recirc port in the intake tube needs to be completely plugged or it lets in all kinds of unmetered air. You could be running incredibly lean and not even know it.
philly_evox 09-28-2009, 06:04 AM make sure your intake is plugged and tight and if you are getting a flutter loosen the adjustment knob on top a couple turns. i have this bov but am currently running 50/50.
braddddddd991 09-28-2009, 06:03 PM ^^blow off pretty loud?
Whitewind 09-28-2009, 07:36 PM Just run stock BOV like this plug the intake. No problems here. (Also DTC disabled) my geto motor.
philly_evox 09-28-2009, 09:30 PM ya its loud will turn heads at highway speeds. honestly i tested it at 100% vta just to hear the difference and honestly sounds the same to me, but running 50/50 would be safer imho.
Oh and BOV s wont increase hp they are really pointless but intimidating. i just use one to let the idiot next to me on the street whos reving his engine in their hatchback civic wit their girl in the passanger seat that he stands no chance and throw a little wink at his girl to make him feel as small as his engine hahaha (only done this once) im not THAT guy lol
