Hanson Hospitalized With Pulmonary Embolism

The eldest member of the rock group Hanson was hospitalized in Dallas after complaining of chest and shoulder pain following a performance the night before.
Isaac Hanson, 26, was taken to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas on Tuesday night after a show at the House of Blues. He was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism, which occurs when a blood clot in the extremities breaks away and travels to the lungs.
Hanson's brother, Taylor, told the television station that his brother was doing well.
"We appreciate thoughts and prayers that have been out there for him," he said by phone from Tulsa, Okla., the band's hometown. "We want the tour to go on, so you know we are working steadfastly to see how long he's going to need to rest."
The group's show tonight in Tulsa has been canceled, and further performances may be affected, according to the group's publicist.
